DISINFO: Poland and the Baltics are United States’ "Trojan horses" in the EU

SUMMARY

Russia supports a strong European Union led by Germany. Poland and the Baltic states are “Trojan horses” of American politics in the EU. They attempt to prevent a continental union between Russia and Germany, which Anglo-Saxons have always been very worried about. A removal of Soviet monuments, an ideological challenge to both Belarus and Russia, is carried out by Polish authorities as instructed by the US. Poland is, therefore, a watchdog of the American imperialism. Its task is not only to spoil the relationship with Russia and to hold a hostile course towards ‘Russkiy Mir’ (Russian World) in the East but also to prevent Russia-German rapprochement.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about US presence in Europe. Poland and the Baltic states are sovereign countries, which determine their security and defence policy. Other countries are also often groundlessly claimed to be US-controlled, see further exampleshere. See earlier disinformation cases alleging that Poland is the US's "Trojan horse" and is a fully controlled country, that Latvia is a US's vassal state and that Poland plans to establish an anti-Russian buffer zone including Belarus.
