Disinfo: Poland is behind December protests against Belarus-Russia deeper integration in Minsk

The West, and Poland, in particular, is behind protests against deeper Belarus-Russia integration in Minsk. Poland has been investing in the infrastructure for protests in Belarus for years and takes it on the street when it wishes.

This is a conspiracy theory consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about Western attempts to organise a colour revolution in Belarus, to disrupt Belarusian-Russian relations in general and development of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, in particular. The claims that December protests in Minsk are inspired by Poland and that some Poland-raised and subordinated protest infrastructure exists in Belarus are groundless.

On 7 December 2019, the day of the meeting between Belarusian and Russian presidents in Sochi, over 1,000 demonstrators rallied in Minsk to protest closer integration with Russia. Protest rallies also took place on 20th and 21st of December 2019. Concerns in the Belarusian society are growing over the secrecy around the two countries' negotiations over deepened integration which may eventually threaten Belarus' sovereignty.

See earlier disinformation case alleging that anti-integration protests in Minsk were supported by Nazis and Vatican, that the West is destabilizing Belarus with the help of Nazis and LGBT, that pro-Western Belarusian opposition prefers commemorating WWII events with swastikas and LGBT symbols, and that Warsaw is preparing Euromaidan scenario for Belarus.

Falling Boeing airplanes: A US Secret Weapon

The crash of the flight PS752 is not an accident, and not even with an “air defense error,” but a cold-blooded murder of 176 people. It may turn out to be another act of secret war being waged by those who consider themselves entitled to decide individually the fate of other countries.

You must know the hidden capabilities of the planes in order to cause a catastrophe and the US government is actually in control of Boeing.

It is not a coincidence that the passengers were so “international”, coming from some NATO countries. Some time ago, [US president Donald] Trump urged about “the need for greater involvement of NATO countries in the crisis in the Middle East”. The next step would be to impose new sanctions against Iran, just as it happened in the case of MH17, when sanctions were imposed against Russia.

Conspiracy theory about the downing of the Ukrainian flight PS 752 and MH17.

Iran has recognised that its military forces unintentionally shot down the passenger jet. On January 11, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani wrote on Twitter: “Armed Forces’ internal investigation has concluded that regrettably, missiles fired due to human error caused the horrific crash of the Ukrainian plane & death of 176 innocent people.”

Unknown shooters killed 14 people in Vilnius, on January 13, 1991

The tragic events of January 13, 1991 have yet to be investigated. Then, after fire was opened by unknown shooters, 14 people were killed.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Lithuania and events of January 13, 1991 in Vilnius.

On January 13th Lithuania commemorates the night in 1991 when Soviet forces attempted to crush the re-established independence, killing 14 civilians. Lithuania proclaimed independence in March 1990. Moscow tried to foil the secession with an economic blockade. When that proved ineffective, Soviet troops still garrisoned in the capital Vilnius attacked its TV broadcast tower and sole TV station, killing civilians standing as human shields there. The events of the January 13th, 1991, and the offences committed by the USSR troops have been extensively documented.

US stops issuing visas in Armenia due to tense situation in region

The US Embassy in Yerevan stopped issuing entry visas to Armenian citizens, saying the decision was temporary and was due to increased security measures.

“Due to the events in the Middle East, the US Embassy in Yerevan temporarily suspended the provision of certain visa services,” – the embassy said on January 8.

The American Embassy in Yerevan did not suspend the issuance of visas. In a press release, published on 7th of January, the US Embassy informed about "a change in Embassy entry procedures when visiting the Consular section". The embassy statement does not mention that visas will no longer be issued:

"Large personal bags will no longer be permitted. You must plan on not having any item larger than a handbag with you when visiting the U.S. Embassy.  If you have larger items, you will not be permitted to enter the Embassy, you will not be able to store your items with guards, or leave them at the guard shack at the Embassy hilltop,"
