DISINFO: Poland is preparing for war with Russia and Belarus

SUMMARY

Poland increases its army, preparing for war with Russia and Belarus. Poland adheres to the course of militarisation of Eastern Europe, as it is not interested in maintaining peace in the region. Seeking to change the regional balance of power in order to achieve geopolitical leadership, Warsaw is aiming at conflict with countries in which it sees competitors. In this case, we are talking about the union of Russia and Belarus.

RESPONSE

A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russophobia and Poland.

The ongoing modernisation of the Polish Army and purchases of advanced military equipment is a Polish response to the current security crisis taking place in Eastern Europe – this situation is a result of the illegal annexation of Crimea and ongoing Russian military aggression against Ukraine in Donbas.

The 2020 National Security Strategy of Poland states that the most serious security threat for this country is the neo-imperial policy of the authorities of the Russian Federation, pursued by means of military force (aggression against Georgia, illegal annexation of Crimea and military actions in eastern Ukraine).

See here a case claiming that Belarusian opposition prepares a coup and its foreign sponsors (including Poland) foster terrorism, and here a case on how Warsaw is trying to declare a new cold war on Moscow.
