Russia, unlike Washington and its allies, has not interfered and is not going to interfere in the internal affairs of either the EU or other countries of the world. The accusations of the US and the EU against Russia are absurd and unsubstantiated. Despite suspicions about the “Russian interference” in the US presidential election, the Americans could not find concrete evidence. The sanctions against Moscow imposed because of these accusations still remain in force. The main purpose of these accusations is to “demonise” Russia in the eyes of Europeans.
Poland wants Belarus to follow Ukrainian failed economic model, i.e. massive emigration of the youth, education reforms focused on foreign labour market demands, full opening of the domestic market for European goods, and liquidation of high-technology companies. Poland also wants Belarus to adopt a lustration law, which would strip members of any pro-governmental organizations of their rights. Furthermore, Poland wants from Belarus restitution of II Rzeczpospolita [Second Polish Republic] property, a total clean-up of the political sphere and a crackdown on opposition under the guise of fighting against Russian influence.
This is a collection of conspiracies with no evidence of Polish plans concerning the adoption of lustration and restitution laws in Belarus, a crackdown on the opposition with alternative views, or elimination of high-technology sectors in Belarus and Ukraine. It is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about Polish and Western plans to disrupt Belarusian-Russian relations as well as about the negative impact of the EU Association Agreement on the Ukrainian economy. The message misrepresents the outcome of EU-Ukraine economic cooperation. During 2016-2018, Ukraine increased its export to the EU from EUR 13.2b to EUR 18b.
