DISINFO: Polish farmers want anti-Russian sanctions to be lifted

SUMMARY

Hundreds of angry farmers protested in Warsaw, demanding that the anti-Russian sanctions be lifted, as they put farmers on the brink of a ruin.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation on sanctions. It is true that Polish farmers protested against sanctions - but they have actually demanded Russia to lift its sanctions imposed on the EU, which prevent Polish farmers to sell their products in Russia. All demands of the protesting farmers, associated in the organisation Agrounia, can be found here. Since March 2014, the EU has progressively imposed restrictive measures against Russia. The measures were adopted in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and the deliberate destabilisation of Ukraine.
