Disinfo: Revolutions were made, legitimate governments were overthrown by American manuals

Summary

Revolutions were made, legitimate governments were overthrown by American manuals. How awkward these requirements now look like concerning the situation in the US. Remember your own advice on human rights and finally apply them in your own country.

Protests against racism and police violence in the US got out of control. The police can’t handle the chaos. In the United States, several dozen people died, hundreds were wounded, and thousands were arrested as the result of the riots.

Disproof

An unfounded conspiracy theory, in line with a pro-Kremlin narrative on protests never actually being manifestations of popular discontent. The pro-Kremlin media frequently use disinformation narratives about popular protests allegedly incited by the US around the world, including colour revolutions in Eastern Europe, Euromaidan in Ukraine, protests in Catalonia and others.

The widespread protests against racial injustice and police brutality broke out in the US after the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis on the 25th of May, 2020. The protests followed several high-profile incidents involving African Americans and the police, invoking debates about racism in the US. Though the situation was very tense for some days and protests spread to all 50 states of the country, military top officials and police officers worked effectively to de-escalate the situation, and demonstrations became largely peaceful after the first days.

See more examples of pro-Kremlin disinformation about the racial justice protests in the US, such as claims that they may be a colour revolution orchestrated by leaders of the Democratic Party or that they are being fuelled by Bellingcat site, or that the protests in the US are reminiscent of colour revolution technique, and that the protests in the US are a standoff between Trump and the globalist corporations.

NATO military exercise BALTOPS is anti-Russian

BALTOPS exercise is held annually by NATO. Previously, Russia took part in exercises. Everything changed after the Ukrainian crisis in 2014. Moscow stopped participating in manoeuvres. And the very nature of the exercises became emphasized as anti-Russian. No one doubts that they are directed against Russia. NATO is increasingly justifying the holding of costly exercises by the need to combat the alleged “Russian threat.” Although Moscow has stated many times that it is not going to attack the West.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about NATO threatening or encircling Russia and the military exercise "Baltops 2020".

NATO is a defensive alliance, whose purpose is to protect its member states. NATO exercises are not directed against Russia – or any other country.

Ukraine will give Hungary part of Transcarpathia

Ukraine will give Hungary part of its territory. The Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine has published new projects for dividing the country’s regions and one of the main sensations is the creation of a separate Hungarian region of Berehove in Transcarpathia.

Disproof

As part of the continuation of the decentralisation reform, the Ministry of Regional Development announced projects that will renew regions in Ukraine, including Transcarpathia, and they plan to include the Vynohradiv region in the Berehove region. An updated map of Transcarpathia, presented at the ministry, shows the unification of the Berehove and Vinohradiv regions, with the centre in Berehove. This is not the creation of a “Hungarian” region that will be "surrendered to Hungary”, but instead the unification of two small regions into one, as part of the government's decentralisation reform.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitro Kuleba said the information that Ukraine is creating the Berehove district in the Transcarpathian region for the interests of Hungary is fake, saying: "No foreign country has the right to dictate to Ukraine how to organise communities, districts or regions. The Berehove region has existed happily for a long time and has the right to extend its existence. Now we are only talking about joining the Vinohradiv region within the reform. The decision to join the regions was not made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Administrative-territorial reform is not a question of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

The organisers of “colour revolutions” in the CIS aim to destabilise the situation in Russia

The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries receive nothing from the West, except an increase in dependence on the West. Ukraine and Georgia now have a destabilised political system, the growth of corruption and organised crime, and a deep crisis in the economy, instead of independence and prosperity. The main goal of the organisers of the “colour revolutions” in the CIS republics, is the destabilisation of Russia.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the aggressive West, Ukraine as a non-sovereign country and the so-called "colour revolutions".

The disinformation message also advances pro-Kremlin narratives about the 2008 Russo-Georgian War and Kyiv's 2013-14 Euromaidan protests were backed and/or carried out by the West in order to provoke/weaken/destabilise Russia.
