Summary

There are rumours that Finland is already officially in Nato and that it is a secret agreement.

Disproof

Conspiracy theory. Finland is not in NATO. Cooperation has been reinforced over the years since Finland joined NATO’s Partnership for Peace in 1994 and became a member of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council in 1997. www.nato.int/cps/ic/natohq/topics_49594.htm#,

Sweden is hiding positive doping tests of two athletes

The hacker group Fancy Bears published a number of documents of The Swedish Sports Confederation (RF), that shows the sports functionaries hid positive doping tests of one skier and one track and field athlete. The materials note that the two athletes have at various times given positive doping tests, which showed the presence of a prohibited preparation terbutaline (analogue of salbutamol, which is prescribed for the treatment of bronchial asthma and bronchitis – Ed.), But no athletes have been investigated or sanctioned . It is also reported that, according to information from the documents, the vast majority of skiers and biathletes from Sweden use therapeutic exceptions, since they suffer from a chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract. According to hackers, representatives from The Swedish Sports Confederation launched an attack on Norwegian skiers, giving out news of tens of thousands of doses of salbutamol, which the Norwegian team took with them to the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang in order to take the blow from Swedish sport,

Disproof

No evidence given. The Confederation said the attack was aimed at discrediting its anti-doping activities. "We have nothing to hide and the goal of the sports movement's anti-doping efforts is to ensure all athletes' right to participate and compete in an environment free from doping. The most serious thing about this intrusion is that personal data such as those of the active athletes is spread by hackers" said Stefan Bergh, Secretary General of The Swedish Sports Confederation. The Confederation also appealed to the media and the public not to help spread the sensitive personal details of the active athletes that had been hacked - denying that any of the details suggests that they have been involved in doping. The Swedish Sports Confederation has reported the hack to the police and reported the infringement to the Data Inspectorate. It said the attack was by the Fancy Bears hacking group, also known as APT28, which Western governments and security experts have linked to a Russian intelligence agency and have blamed it for operations including an attack on the Democratic National Committee ahead of the 2016 U.S. elections. Earlier, Fancy Bears has also illegally obtained data from an account in WADA’s Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) created especially for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Not all data released by Fancy Bear accurately reflected original ADAMS data. https://www.wada-ama.org/en/media/news/2016-10/cyber-security-update-wadas-incident-response For more on alteration of breached data see https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2016/10/researchers-find-fake-data-in-olympic-anti-doping-guccifer-2-0-clinton-dumps/

Swedish City Allows Muslim Prayer Calls, Rejects Church Clock Ringing

The Swedish town of Växjö has sparked a lot of controversy by granting the local Muslim Foundation permission to run prayer calls at a maximum volume of 110 decibels. By contrast, a local church had to confine itself to a small and “quiet” clock inside the building to be used for a similar purpose. Saint Michael Church, which belongs to the local Catholic community, previously asked for permission to ring clocks, but, unlike the local Muslim Foundation, received a resonant “no.”

Disproof

Actually, the Catholic Assembly in the city of Växjö has never sent in an application to call its members to worship and hence it has not been rejected.Neither Växjö municipality nor the local police authorities could find any traces of the alleged request. The fake claim to the contrary has had enormous spread on social media, both in Sweden and abroad. The original publication in the small Swedish local newspaper was corrected, but that did not happen in most international publications. Furthermore, the Catholic parish’s request to use their church bells was supposedly denied ”10-15 years ago” – thereby eliminating any connection to the mosque’s application being approved today. Smålandsposten’s editor-in-chief, Magnus Karlsson, regretted the initial article. ”I am disappointed that we published the article without enough evidence. But initially we didn’t have reason to distrust the information we received from the priest. We have followed up the article. But, as P4 realised, there is no formal decision" he said. www.dn.se/nyheter/politik/catholic-parish-was-not-denied-using-church-bells/,

Photo: Kosovan and Albanian migrants are “storming” the EU borders from Serbia.

Disproof

The photo is from February 2016. It was taken at the border of FYROM and Greece and shows refugees, mainly from Syria, and migrants. Outlets such as The New York Times and Kathimerini used it back then. The photo has served disinforming purposes on various occasions. On January 8, 2018 it depicted “200 migrants storming the Morocco-Spain border”, according to stormfront.org. In July 2017, websites like usdefensewatch.org and ladylibertynews.com used the picture to illustrate how George Soros was “in alliance with the EU to flood Europe with refugees”. In May 2017, it showed refugees fleeing from Germany due to the suffering and humiliation they encountered there, according to arabinworld.com. News Front is a growing Russian news agency that is run from Crimea, created to “fight in the information war” and is frequently spreading disinformation. According to Die Zeit, the agency is partly funded by the FSB, Russia’s security service. Read more: euvsdisinfo.eu/one-image-4-x-disinformation-about-migrants/,
