Disinfo: Russia backs objective probe into chemical weapons attacks

Summary

The Kremlin backs an objective investigation into this situation to provide trustworthy data, and so that we don’t rely on rumors and fake media reports. We believe that this information on such awful consequences of using chemical weapons in [Syria’s] Douma is not based on real data.

Disproof

Actually, the Russian ambassador to the United Nations in the U.N. Security Council has systematically blocked resolutions calling for joint international investigations of chemical weapons use in Syria. Six times, Russia has exercised its vetoes on Syria in chemical weapons-related resolutions research.un.org/en/docs/sc/quick/, , the most recent one on the 10 of April www.un.org/en/ga/search/view_doc.asp?symbol=S/2018/321,

Yulia Skripal was kidnapped by the British secret service

Yulia Skripal was kidnapped by the British secret service so she could not testify about what really happened to Russian diplomats, and she is not allowed to talk to her family, for example her cousin Viktoria Skripal.

Disproof

No evidence given. Yulia Skripal issued her longest statement yet on Wednesday night to make clear she does not want the help of the Russian Embassy, nor her cousin. "I have access to friends and family and I have been made aware of my specific contacts at the Russian embassy, who have kindly offered me their assistance in any way they can. At the moment I do not wish to avail myself of their services. I want to stress that no one speaks for me, or for my father, but ourselves. I thank my cousin Viktoria for her concern for us, but ask that she does not visit me or try to contact me for the time being. Her opinions and assertions are not mine and they are not my father’s."

There was no chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma

The Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Experts Group of the Russian Defense Ministry visited the Douma Health Institution where they did not find any signs of chemical poisoning or exposure to poisonous substances such as sarin and chlorine which again proves that no chemical weapon was used in the Syrian city of Douma.

Disproof

Repeating recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation about chemical weapons use in Syria, the White Helmets and Sergei Skripal poisoning.  https://euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=syria+chemical+weapons&disinfo_issue=&date=, https://euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=white+helmets&disinfo_issue=&date=, https://euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=sergei+skripal&disinfo_issue=&date=

On April 7th, a high number of civilians were killed in the besieged Syrian city of Douma, with evidence pointing towards another chemical attack by the regime, according to the EU. Also the WHO have concluded a high number of civilians were injured and killed.

Finns found a Ukrainian trace in the case of Skripal

Ukrainian trace is the most probable in the Skripal case, Finnish politicians concluded. Ukraine has an obvious motive, not Russia. UK russophobes have been coming down on Russia already for a month.

Disproof

Many competing and contradictory stories promulgated by Russian state-controlled media, the only connecting thread being to confuse their audience and exclude any possibility of Russian involvement https://euvsdisinfo.eu/disinformation-cases/?text=sergei+skripal&disinfo_issue=&date=

One Finnish MP, Tom Packalen, has claimed Ukraine "gains from the situation".
