Disinfo: Russian government, unlike France or the EU, has a legitimacy that comes from the masses

Summary

Russia, unlike France or countries of the European Union, has legitimacy that comes from the bottom. The people give legitimacy to the government. A government cannot allow itself, as in France, to function with 30% of popularity. A head of state in this case would literally blow up the country.

Disproof

Recurrent narrative about non democratic Europe as opposed to Russia's democracy. The same video contained another disinformation message about so called Western "values" being a denial of human value.

Democracy and rule of law involve certain mechanisms in the institutions that allow the state to express the will of people and respect the rights of individuals and minority groups. As the Council of Europe states, it is not necessarily the rule of the majority against the minorities if the right of minorities are violated. Democracy is not about the popularity of its leader, on the contrary, regimes for which the leaders are the most well known and popular are often autocracy, monarchy, tyranny and dictatorship. Popularity polls cannot be used as a way to legitimize one political regime against another one.

According to Freedom House which evaluates the France with a score of 90/100: "the French political system features vibrant democratic processes and affords generally strong protections to civil liberties and political rights. However, due to a number of deadly terrorist attacks in recent years, successive governments have been willing to curtail constitutional protections and empower law enforcement. Anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant sentiment have also increased."
Russia on the other hand is evaluated at 20/100: "Power in Russia’s authoritarian political system is concentrated in the hands of President Vladimir Putin. With loyalist security forces, a subservient judiciary, a controlled media environment, and a legislature consisting of a ruling party and pliable opposition factions, the Kremlin is able to manipulate elections and suppress genuine dissent. Rampant corruption facilitates shifting links among bureaucrats and organized crime groups."

As a result of the revolt in the US, pro-Trump whites are marked for political, economic, cultural if not physical extermination

In US’s multi-racial cities governed by democrats, people know that their businesses and their homes have no protection against the revolts and looting.

In the US today, the self-esteem of whites has almost totally collapsed. The forces of evil have succeded. The white race is now split: white liberals on the one hand and pro-Trump whites on the other. The latter are marked for political, economic, cultural if not physical extermination.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative that depicts the racial justice protests in US as a civil war, as a colour revolution or coup d’état  orchestrated by democratic party planners,  as the disintegration or systemic collapse of American society.

The article states that the anti-racist protests in the US are provoking a total collapse of public order in many cities and will lead to the political and economic exclusion of non-liberal or pro-Trump whites from American society, and possibly to their physical extermination. The article thus suggests that a scenario of civil war-like conflict and mass repression is taking place in the US. These claims do not reflect reality.

Western countries deliberately rewrite the history of World War II

Revision of Second World War history is being pushed forward by official representatives of Western countries and is intended to diminish the contribution of the Soviet Union to the victory over National Socialism.

We observe many attempts to present history in a completely different light. For example, when official representatives of Western countries summarise the results of the Second World War, and only highlight the contribution of the US and Britain. They deliberately ignore the key role of the Soviet Union in the victory over fascism and thus try to revise the results of the Nuremberg Trials.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about WWII that is part of the Kremlin’s policy of historical revisionism.

Western historians and officials acknowledge the role played by the USSR in defeating Nazism and do not question the Soviet contribution to the victory in WWII nor the status of the USSR as a country which helped win WWII.

Western sanctions against Syria are illegal

The United States and the European Union have decided to keep the sanctions against Syria in spite of the fact that the Syrian people need help, regardless of the recent call by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to ease sanctions during the spread of the coronavirus.

New sanctions have been imposed that undoubtedly come in an attempt to strangle the Syrian Arab Republic economically, therefore it is very important now that we examine ways to organise the delivery of humanitarian aid and support the Syrian people through appropriate channels.

Disproof

A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about sanctions against the Syrian regime trying to portray them as illegal and targeting the Syrian population.

The EU sanctions do not target the Syrian population but individuals and companies who are involved with a political regime that has committed war crimes. See our video here for further details.
