Disinfo: Soros controls current political elite in Ukraine and plays important role in the events in Belarus

Summary

It is Soros who controls the current political elite of Ukraine and, most likely, plays an important role with his money in the events in Belarus (although the performers there, of course, are mainly from the Polish arbour).

Disproof

Recurring disinformation narratives about the American billionaire and the philanthropist George Soros, presenting him as a person who aims to control political systems in countries around the world.

No evidence given. Previously, pro-Kremlin media spread the same message about protests and political parties in Romania, in Ukraine and in Moldova, claiming that protests in these countries are not spontaneous, but controlled from abroad by interested groups or persons.

The Open Society Foundation, sponsored by George Soros, is a network of independent groups working in many countries, since 1984, for justice, democratic governance and human rights. Now, the Open Society Foundations support projects implemented by NGOs or state institutions in more than 120 countries.

In Belarus, the foundation is not active. Soros foundation used to operate here between 1993-1997, with branches in Minsk and Vitebsk but stopped operations due to conflicts with the authorities.

The US administration waits for a repetition of the Ukrainian scenario in Belarus

The US is waiting for specific conditions for the repetition of the Ukrainian scenario in Belarus.

The current US administration will not send all its forces to the Belarusian putsch, as Barack Obama’s team did with regard to Ukraine. [The] best specialists in Washington were working on the implementation of the Euromaidan. […]

If the United States suspects that the situation in Belarus is gradually going beyond American interests, the envoys are quickly sent over here.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine's statehood which claims that the Euromaidan protests were organised by foreign forces and combined with the recent protests in Belarus, which erupted after thousands of people took to the streets to contest the results of the Presidential election in Belarus, that are considered fraudulent by a large part of society.

There was no coup d’état in Ukraine in 2014. The spontaneous onset of massive Euromaidan protests was a reaction of the Ukrainian population to the sudden departure of President Yanukovych from the Association Agreement with the European Union and to the brutal dispersal of student protest actions on 30 November 2013.

EU is creating a poverty belt in the East of the EU, to secure access to cheap labour

The EU is creating a poverty belt in its east, consisting of Ukraine, the Baltic States and now Belarus, in order to secure access to cheap labour and sales markets. It has been the economic survival model of the Baltic States for years to export low-wage labour to other EU countries, it has become the business model of Ukraine and it will also become the model of Belarus.

When Belarus turns to the EU and the West, that is what will follow – the complete exploitation of the country, a wave of industrial bankruptcies, the decay of the infrastructure, in short: the complete economic decline in Belarus. This is what Belarus, unlike Russia, was largely spared of in the nineties of the last century.

A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Belarus, the West and the EU

The Protests in Belarus erupted after thousands of people took to the streets to contest the results of the Presidential elections in Belarus, which are considered fraudulent by a large part of society.

Netherlands to build special houses for 5G opponents

The Netherlands will build special houses which block electromagnetic radiation. These houses are meant for people who experience headaches and insomnia as a result of 5G.

Disproof

Recurring conspiracy theory on 5G.

According to World Architecture, the aim of building 100 new homes is to establish the smartest neighbourhood in the world. The settlement will be self-sufficient in terms of energy and food production, as well as "smart homes" which will use technology according to the needs and consumer habits of the residents. Smart homes have nothing to do with the 5G conspiracies around accompanying illnesses. On the contrary, the project relies on the advancement of technology, including 5G to expand and integrate technology into homes, cars, daily activities, etc.
