DISINFO: Strike on Sevastopol carried out by the collective West

SUMMARY

Today's strike on Sevastopol, carried out by the Kyiv-ruling collective West, only confirms the theory that the escalation will continue exponentially until we are forced to give them all an ultimatum that from now on we will treat them as participants in the conflict, that is, as military opponents.

RESPONSE

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing the West of being involved in the Russian war on Ukraine.

On September 22, Ukraine's defence forces struck the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea fleet command in Sevastopol which is located on temporary occupied territory on the Ukrainian Crimea peninsula.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that satellite imagery confirmed that Ukrainian forces “struck the 744th Communications Center of the Command of the Black Sea Fleet… as part of an apparent Ukrainian effort to target Black Sea Fleet facilities.”

There is no credible evidence given to back up the claims that the attack was committed by 'the West'. The Ukrainian military claimed responsibility for the attack.

Western countries are not a part of the conflict in Ukraine. Ukraine is exercising its right to self-defence, defending its country, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, in the aggressive war unleashed by Russia.

More than 50 states participating in the Ramstein meetings are providing military, financial, or other assistance to Ukraine to resist Russian invasion.

Crimea has served as the key hub supporting Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Sevastopol, the main base of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, has had particular importance for navy operations since the start of the invasion of Ukraine. The attack is in line with Ukraine's self-defence as enshrined in the UN Charter. Article 51.
