Disinfo: The American lobby protects anti-Polish and anti-Christian TV channel

Summary

The United States continues its pressure on the powerful pro-American lobby in Poland, which dominates all areas of politics, culture, science and economy. A good example here is the Polish position against Yamal 2 and Nord Stream 2: the American lobby blocked these projects in the interest of Washington. In the end, after the decision to complete Nord Stream 2, the American agents of influence in Poland faced a defeat and the Polish foreign policy was compromised.

The USA have realised another evident betrayal of Poland, which implements anti-Russian policies against its own interests. The vote in the Senate on “lex TVN” is a test of patriotism for the ruling Polish elite. This channel is 100% owned by foreign capital; it promotes anti-Polish and anti-Christian politics, propagating genderism and demoralising culture. This TV channel should never be present in Poland – finally, there is a chance to change that.

A common pro-Kremlin narrative on “lost sovereignty” - in this case, projected on Poland. This country is often presented as a “puppet-state” of the United States, which fully controls the domestic and foreign policy of this country through the “omnipotent American lobby”.

The claim that Poland fights with the Nord Stream 2 because of activities of the pro-American lobby is unfounded. Poland and many other EU countries perceive this project as a serious security threat to Europe.

The claim that the TVN channel “promotes anti-Polish and anti-Christian politics, demoralising culture and promoting genderism” is untrue. Currently, Poland faces a serious domestic political dispute around the so-called “TVN law”, which was recently adopted by the Polish Parliament. This amendment prevents non-European companies from owning a majority of shares in Polish media. According to the Polish authorities, this law protects the Polish media market from Russian and Chinese propaganda. The Polish opposition and media community believe that this law is aimed against the most popular anti-governmental media group TVN, which is owned by the American Discovery company. The US authorities and the EU showed their worries with this law, which may undermine the situation with media freedom in Poland.

Accusations against Moscow of interfering in Washington’s affairs continue, but there is still no evidence of this.

The authors of these accusations do not provide any evidence or facts but set out only speculation, the purpose of which is to maintain a high degree of Russophobia in American society.

Moscow does not betray its principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

Moreover, Russia categorically rejects all fabrications in its direction about "attempts to influence the political situation in the US".

It is not true that there is no evidence to support Western accusations of Kremlin involvement in other countries' affairs. Russian interference in the US 2020 election has been established beyond doubt not only by US intelligence but also by law enforcement officials, journalists and researchers. Multiple attempts to influence the public discourse to favour one candidate over the other were uncovered throughout 2019 and 2020, though their ultimate success is disputed.

Disinfo: EU applies double standards on migration issues to pressure Minsk

Brussels is well aware that the influx of immigrants from Belarus is incomparable with the number of refugees arriving in southern European countries. However, Brussels prefers to put more pressure on Minsk.

What we are seeing now is a manifestation of double standards and hypocrisy of Brussels, which gives carte blanche to Lithuania and Poland for practically any measures against migrants, just to complicate the life of Belarus.

The claim that Ukraine is a colony or a failed state is unsubstantiated. Pro-Kremlin media outlets often cast doubts on Ukrainian statehood and claim that Ukraine either does not exist as a state or is going to tumble down very soon. In reality, present-day Ukraine has been on the world map since 1991 when the Soviet Union disintegrated. It has elected six presidents since then and changed parties in government several times which illustrates political diversity and democratic dynamics even during economic hardship in the wake of Russian aggression in 2014. Ukraine's Western partners have been providing it with financial and technical assistance.
