SUMMARY
The Baltic states and Poland are destroying the European Union. They rejected the proposal for the summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It shows a lack of courage and unity as well as the deficit of independence, responsibility and strategic thinking of the EU.
The mistake was that France and Germany mixed national interests with common European interests. They hope to push their own agenda in the EU. But the pro-American and Anglo-Saxonic group in the EU is resisting the France-Germany alliance. It deprives the European Union of freedom of action and strategic thinking. In other words, it will destroy the EU.

Recurring disinformation about the "imminent collapse" of the EU.
One of the questions discussed at the European Council on June 24-25, 2021 was EU-Russia relations. According to the reports in the international press, ahead of the summit Germany and France called for a new EU strategy of closer engagement with Russia, which could include direct talks with the Russian president.
The Council conclusions, adopted following the discussion of European leaders, stressed the need for a firm and coordinated response by the EU and its Member States to any further malign, illegal and disruptive activity by Russia, making full use of all instruments at the EU’s disposal, and ensuring coordination with partners. The European Council invited the Commission and the High Representative to present options for additional restrictive measures, including economic sanctions.
The European Council also reiterated openness to a selective engagement with Russia in areas of EU interest, stressed the need for people-to-people contacts and continued EU support to Russian civil society, human rights organisations and independent media.
The decisions at the European Council are adopted unanimously. Leaders' discussion is a part of democratic process of decision-making in the EU.
