Disinfo: The Coordination Council of Belarus recognises Crimea as Russian territories

Summary

If we combine everything, it looks like this: Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] will replace Lukashenka with the Coordination Council of Belarus. For their part, they will also do everything. They recognise Crimea. They acknowledge Putin’s policy towards Ukraine.

Disproof

This is part of an ongoing pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign on Belarus.

The Coordination Council of Belarus has not made any statements about Crimea. For example, the expelled from Belarus members of the Coordination Council Ivan Kravtsov and Anton Rodnenkov refused to answer what they think about the annexation of Crimea.

“We are here as representatives of the Coordination Council. Even if I say what I think, it will be perceived as the position of someone who is on the Coordination Council. We see the council as a table at which completely different forces can sit. It has different political parties that do not have a consensus among themselves about Crimea,” said Rodnenkov.

Ivan Kravtsov added that it is strange for them to hear such questions since the Coordination Council is primarily concerned with the internal Belarusian agenda.

Disproof

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative alleging that Ukraine has been under external control since the 2013-14 Euromaidan revolution.

Former Secretary of the Treasury Paul Henry O'Neill never wrote such a letter. The original text belongs to a Henry Paul, unrelated to the George W Bush Secretary, and was published in 2015 on the German site "Contra Magazin" in German. Now, this material has already been removed from the site, but this page remains in the Internet archive.

Russia destroyed stockpiles of novichok according to OPCW rules

The entire Novichok stockpile in Russia was destroyed in accordance with the protocols of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), and this was done in an official way.

Therefore, to say that there is either production or old stock of agents from chemical warfare in Russia is of course false information.

In September 2017, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed the full destruction of the 39,967 metric tons of chemical weapons possessed by Russia, but Novichoks were never declared to the OPCW and weren’t included in the Chemical Weapons Convention until 2019.

This is part of a pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign on the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny after the use of a chemical nerve agent of the Novichok group was established beyond any doubt by a specialist Bundeswehr laboratory.

No evidence of Navalny poisoning, West wants to stop Nord Stream 2

No evidence (of the poisoning of opposition Russian politician Alexei Navalny) was provided. Why is Germany involved? Because of Nord Stream 2. In order to stop this gas pipe line, it is necessary to drag Germany into a dubious showdown with Russia.

Disproof

Allegations about the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, which are not supported by any evidence. The poisoning of Navalny has nothing to do with the "intention" of Western countries to impose additional sanctions against Russia in order to stop the construction of Nord Stream 2.

A prominent Russian opposition figure Alexey Navalny fell ill during a flight and the plane had to make an emergency landing in Omsk. Doctors there said he was in a coma and they were trying to save his life. Since then he has been transferred to Berlin and is receiving treatment at Berlin's Charité Hospital. The German Federal government said that toxicological tests provided  “unequivocal evidence of a chemical nerve agent of the Novichok group” in the blood samples of Alexei Navalny.
