Disinfo: The coronavirus: the weapon of global capital against humanity

Summary

A secret ruling elite composed of global capital owners has deliberately engineered the coronavirus in order to pin the otherwise inevitable collapse of the global economy on the pandemic. While EU countries such as France, Germany, Italy and Spain were reminded that they should not be too assertive on the world stage, the puppet-masters, part of the “deep state” in Britain and the United States, rejoiced. Given the democracies’ inability to contain the crisis, the coronavirus is a “convenient” excuse to achieve the ultimate end goal for this secret global elite: fascism.

Disproof

This article is an example of a conspiracy theory about secret global elites. This theme is a recently recurring Kremlin-led narrative in relation to the coronavirus. The idea of a “Shadow World Government” in itself is also a recurring narrative. As with many conspiracy theories, this one is appealing because it is based on the premise that the very absence of evidence is the proof for the existence of a secret puppet-master world elite. In the case of the coronavirus, however, there is strong evidence that the virus was not artificially created.

COVID-19 is a new strain of a large family of coronaviruses (CoV) which also cause the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The coronaviruses are transmitted between animals and people, and previous research has revealed that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels. Other known coronaviruses among animals have not yet been transmitted to humans. Researchers in Guangzhou, China have suggested that the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) may have originated in the pangolin.

As of April 8th, 2020, over 150 countries reported at least one case of coronavirus. See the updated figures on coronavirus cases per country here.

A pensioner died in Ukraine after being fined for violating quarantine

A pensioner died after being imposed a large fine for violating quarantine in one of the regions of Western Ukraine. The old woman was fined 17,000 UAH for selling milk during the quarantine period. She could not survive such a blow. The pensioner came home and died of a heart attack.

Disproof

This is part of disinformation narratives about coronavirus, alleging that Ukraine is a degrading state and fails to look after its people.

The Press Centre of the Ministry of the Interior Affairs of Ukraine checked this publication and reported that it's fake.

Mean Poland closes airspace for Russian aircraft carrying medical aid for Italy

Russian aircraft carrying medical aid for Italy was forced to take a longer route as Poland closed its airspace for Moscow’s Il-76. This was “meanness on a state policy level”.

Disproof

Recurring Kremlin-led narrative about EU member states’ Russophobia as an impediment to the fight against the coronavirus.

This article is based on a tweet by Alexey Pushkov, a Russian senator and chairman of the Commission on Information Policy of the Kremlin’s Federation Council, from March 23. In the tweet, he accuses Poland of preventing aid from reaching an ally and calls for a “no compromise” approach towards Poland on any issue. The senator’s tweet was later deleted. Ukrainians attempt to save people from coronavirus using plastic bags

It’s surprising, but it’s a fact: While international medical science is moving forward and achieves new heights, Ukraine has managed to sink to new lows. There is reason to believe that patients not long from now will face healing through dances with drums.

A doctor of one of the Ukrainian hospitals spoke about the fight against a shortage of ventilation machines during the outbreak of coronavirus and proposed so-called Bubble-CPAP technology. This method is about putting an ordinary plastic bag on the head of the patient with two tubes leading oxygen in and out.

If, literally 5 years ago, Ukrainian doctors were real specialists, now they are more like savages from the jungle who call on the gods to defeat this or that disease. It will not be surprising if the next proposal by Ukrainian doctors is to immediately place those infected with COVID-19 in body bags.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the coronavirus, alleging that Ukraine is a degrading state. It is an unfounded claim on Ukraine's readiness for handling cases of the coronavirus.

The use of so-called Bubble-CPAP technology is not a Ukrainian invention, nor is it exclusively found in Ukraine. This technology does involve a simple plastic bag, and is crucial in areas with a shortage of ventilators. "We have one hose to breathe, which we connect to oxygen. We have an adapter. And one that goes to the jar,"  explains Ukrainian doctor Volodymyr Korsunov.
