One might suspect that the hysteria [around the COVID-19 outbreak] is an attempt to distract from the real issues. The time selected for this is ideal, and this is not a coincidence.
The only thing which unites the EU is sanctions against Russia.
Recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about sanctions and Russophobia. The European Union is bound by many things being based on the values like respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities. These values are common to the Member States in a society in which pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality between women and men prevail. These values unite all the member states – no country can belong to the Union if it does not recognise these values. Since March 2014, the EU has progressively imposed restrictive measures against Russia. The measures were adopted in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and the deliberate destabilisation of Ukraine. Read similar cases claiming that the EU countries are adopting sanctions in order to keep unity, that anti-Russian position helped NATO countries freeze a drift in different directions and that Russian threat is an invention.
