Disinfo: The US and EU countries are Russophobic, fascist and Nazi regimes

Western corporate Russophobia is a real danger to humanity. The characteristics of fascism such as racism, xenophobia, hate and violence dominate the minds of the Western ruling elite. Hitler was not less a democrat than French President Macron, Polish President Duda and other European leaders. The US and EU countries support Russophobic, neofascist, terrorist political parties and movements in the post-Soviet space.

Recurrent narrative on "fascism" and "russophobia". See earlier disinformation cases on EU and Russophobia and alleging that western countries are Nazi or support Nazis. The allegation about support of neo-fascist and terrorist movements in post-Soviet space by U.S. and EU is a conspiracy theory.

The claim that U.S. and EU countries represent fascist regimes does not stand from the point of view of political science. Western countries are placed in the top of the democracy rankings, be it Democracy Index by Economist Intelligence Unit, or the Democracy Ranking compiled by the Association for Development and Advancement of the Democracy Award.

Cases in the EUvsDisinfo database focus on messages in the international information space that are identified as providing a partial, distorted, or false depiction of reality and spread key pro-Kremlin messages. This does not necessarily imply, however, that a given outlet is linked to the Kremlin or editorially pro-Kremlin, or that it has intentionally sought to disinform. Ukraine is NATO’s springboard for its future military campaign against Moscow

Ukrainian authorities aim to make Ukraine a NATO springboard for its future military campaign against Moscow. It is no coincidence that after establishing control over Kyiv, Western Russophobes propose to also establish international control over the Russia-Ukraine border. This situation is comparable to the 1938 Munich agreements. Fascist regimes will be established in Donbas if the Ukrainian authorities reach the Russian border.

Crimea was not annexed, but returned to the homeland as a result of a democratic referendum

The image of Crimea, shown by the Western propaganda, is drastically different than reality, said German delegation visiting Crimea.

The delegation saw joy and happiness in the eyes of Crimean citizens. This best proves that it was not annexation, but realisation of the people’s dreams to return to the homeland. All political myths have disappeared after the visit.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative on the annexation of Crimea claiming that Crimean citizens chose to rejoin Russia through a legal referendum.

No international body recognises the so-called referendum, announced 27th of February 2014, and held on 16th of March 2014.

Venezuela crisis caused by US sanctions

The crisis in Venezuela is caused by US sanctions and asset seizures, which together amount to an economic war on the Latin American country.

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative on Venezuela.

The current and most acute stage of the Venezuelan economic crisis was caused largely by the 2014 oil price crash. However, the national economy had suffered from mismanagement and over-reliance on crude exports since at least mid-2000s; shortages of consumer goods -- which had become a chronic issue by 2010 -- have been linked to government and military corruption, overspending, and price controls.
