Summary

The US invested in the Euromaidan protests and is still waiting to get the ‘dividend’ from them.

Disproof

No evidence given for the US being involved in the Euromaidan in 2014 protests, which were a civilian movement. Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative on the West fuelling the protests in Ukraine and campaigning against Russia. Further debunking by Polygraph.

Disinfo: The EU threatens to freeze the visa-free regime for Ukraine

The European Commission threatened to freeze the visa-free regime for Ukraine. In its report from 19 December 2018, it found a significant number of violations of the regime from the Ukrainian side. Europe is unhappy with the flood of illegal Ukrainian migrants. Therefore, Ukraine should significantly reduce the number of illegal immigrants crossing its borders if it wants the visa-free regime to be continued. The European Union will soon become the only chance for the ordinary Ukrainian citizens to earn money, as the current Kiev authorities intend to abandon any communication/cooperation with the Russian Federation. Therefore, the visa-free regime freeze will make Ukrainians hostages in their own impoverished and hungry country.

Disproof

The European Commission report summarizes functioning of the so-called Visa Suspension Mechanism. It provides a detailed analysis of recent developments relating to the implementation of the visa liberalisation benchmarks in 26 countries, including Ukraine. In the report, the European Commission does not declare any plans to freeze or abolish the visa-free regime. Neither does it introduce conditions to be fulfilled by Ukraine for the continuation of the visa-free movement. Further debunking by StopFake_PL.

Disinfo: Japan is not fully sovereign

Japan is not fully sovereign because it is keeping the US troops on its territory.

Disproof

False. Japan is a fully sovereign state recognised by the international community. US military presence in Japan is regulated by the 1954 Mutual Defense Assistance Agreement. The Constitution of Japan forbids the formation of traditional military force. Read more by the Council of Foreign Relations. The disinformation message appeared as the TV show participants discussed the annual video conference of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and his response regarding the question of Kuril islands. Alleged lack of Japan's sovereignty is discussed as an obstacle to negotiations regarding the Kuril islands dispute.
