Disinfo: The US needs war between Russia and Ukraine to weaken Russia

Summary

The US wants to wage a war between Russia and Ukraine. The point is to weaken Russia. It is the American aim since 1946. Russia is a military opponent, the only country in the world which could destroy the US. Therefore, the point of the US is to weaken or even cause Russia to collapse.

The US is not evaluating Russia as the enemy. As it is explained on the website of the Department of State, the US “supported Russia’s integration into European and global institutions and a deepened bilateral partnership in security cooperation to reinforce the foundations of stability and predictability” but could not continue this kind of policy because “Russia ultimately rejected this approach”. Washington also reacted to the aggressive behaviour of Moscow aiming to undermine core institutions of the West, "such as NATO and the EU, and to weaken faith in the democratic and free-market system."

Russia, not the US, is responsible for destabilisation and war in Ukraine, which is a well-documented act of aggression by Russian armed forces, ongoing since February 2014. There is irrefutable evidence of direct Russian military involvement in Eastern Ukraine, in the Donbas. Russia is supporting its proxies with weapons, its active-duty soldiers serve there and its top military commanders visit the war zone to coordinate joint efforts with the separatists. Despite all this Russia officially denies its military presence in Donbas.

The new escalation of tensions near the Ukrainian border is related to the fact that since late October 2021, Russia has conducted a military-build up along the Ukrainian border, including the deployment of as much as 190,000 troops, as well as of certain specialised military units, electronic warfare systems and heavy-armoured vehicles.

Disinfo: Russia only supports the legitimate rights of the Donbas people

Russia does not threaten anyone, and it does not intend to attack Ukraine or threaten any of its neighbours in any way. All that Russia wants is to preserve the security of its lands and citizens, and to support the legitimate rights of the people of the Donbas region, including 700,000 citizens with Russian citizenship, to preserve their culture, language and belonging to the Russian world, without any infringement on Ukrainian sovereignty, and without even support for the separatist tendencies of those republics.

Disinfo: There is no evidence that Russian is planning an invasion of Ukraine

In recent months, high-ranking Western officials and the media have been making almost daily warnings that Russia is planning an invasion of Ukraine, but no actual evidence to back up these claims has ever emerged.

Disproof

These claims are part of an ongoing disinformation campaign about Russia’s military build-up on the border with Ukraine. By claiming that outside forces are the driving force behind the escalation of tensions, this disinformation story aims to deny any Russian responsibility for the situation.

These tensions are a result of Russia’s actions since late October 2021, including the deployment of more than 150,000 troops, as well as of certain specialised military units, electronic warfare systems and heavy-armoured vehicles. Despite Russian denials, this has been proven by satellite images and intelligence from the US, Ukraine and NATO, among other countries and institutions.

Disinfo: NATO has no interest in peace in Ukraine

NATO has no interest in peace in Ukraine, and all that the West is doing is using Ukraine only to ensure the so-called containment of Russia, undermining its defence capabilities and economic development.
