Cases in the EUvsDisinfo database focus on messages in the international information space that are identified as providing a partial, distorted, or false depiction of reality and spread key pro-Kremlin messages. This does not necessarily imply, however, that a given outlet is linked to the Kremlin or editorially pro-Kremlin, or that it has intentionally sought to disinform. EUvsDisinfo publications do not represent an official EU position, as the information and opinions expressed are based on media reporting and analysis of the East Stratcom Task Force.

The West promotes Russophobia in Georgia

The West intentionally promotes Russophobia in Georgia. And it was started by Georgian dissidents 30 years ago. Abkhazia and Tskhinvali lost in 1988-89 when Georgian dissidents started to spread Russophobia.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russophobia.

See here for other disinformation cases about Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The US and the EU govern Georgia

No sovereign Georgia exists. Real governors and legislators sit in Washington, Brussels, Strasbourg, and the Venice Commission. Georgia fulfils their will.

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative as if Georgia is ruled by the West and cooperation with the Western institutions destroys the country's sovereignty.

Media Development Foundation's media monitoring results revealed that the narrative that the West is meddling in sovereign affairs of Georgia and virtually run the country, is one of the main trends of anti-Western propaganda in the country.
