The US understands that sanctions against Russia do not work

Summary

The United States is fed up with imposing sanctions on Russia. Any new sanctions will hit the economy of the United States more than the Russian economy. Sanctions do not work. The United States sees this and understands it.

Disproof

Recurring disinformation concerning sanctions against Russia not being effective.

The false narrative about sanctions is often backed by false statistics, contrary to the actual evidence. According to Russian site RBK, the alleged economic growth of two percent does not stand up to scrutiny. In 2018, inflation rate went up and the rouble depreciated 20% against the dollar.

Sanctions imposed on Russia after the Crimea annexation and Russian meddling in the US elections sapped Russian economical growth.

NATO, Ukraine and Georgia are heating up the situation in the Black Sea region

NATO is trying to aggravate the situation in the Black Sea region: ships from the Netherlands, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria have entered Georgian and Ukrainian ports. The manoeuvrers of the ships of the North Atlantic Alliance exacerbate the situation in the region. NATO specifically provokes Russia: the Alliance takes advantage of any country that is located next to Russia.

Disproof

Recurring disinformation narrative about NATO belligerence and NATO encircling Russia.

On April 5, large-scale naval exercises of the NATO countries, Ukraine and Georgia started in the Black Sea. The ships of the North Atlantic Alliance entered the Ukrainian and Georgian ports earlier - on April 1.

The biggest producers of fake news are Western governments and media

The biggest producers of fake news for the area of the world are the French, US, British, Belgian, etc. governments. and the media that works with it. So it’s a weird thing to see this witch hunt.

Calling competitors “fake news media” is a way of establishing a monopoly of information and to control. So, the public should not be impressed when the word fake news is used.

Disproof

No evidence given. Broad conspiracy narrative saying that the West is conspiring against other countries in its own interest. According to Reporters without borders, the press in US and Europe enjoys high rankings of freedom and is not subordinated to the governments.

The purpose of NATO’s existence: a new cold war

At its 70 years, NATO implements the same tasks as it’s been originally planned: restraining Russia, ensuring US hegemony in the European security system and preventing the creation of a hard security system in Western Europe that would be independent.

The main purpose of NATO’s existence is a new cold war, which started in 2014.

Disproof

No evidence given. This is a recurring Kremlin narrative about the belligerent West/US and NATO attempting to encircle and weaken Russia.

NATO’s essential and enduring purpose is to safeguard the freedom and security of all its members by political and military means. Collective defence is at the heart of the Alliance and creates a spirit of solidarity and cohesion among its members.
