DISINFO: The US uses the EU as a "spear point" against Russia

SUMMARY

The role of the "spear point" against Russia is predetermined for the European Union.

American diplomacy has defined for the EU the role of a spear aimed at Russia. Washington has decided not to reinvent the bicycle if it already exists. There is NATO to the west of the Russian borders, which allows the Americans to deploy a certain number of allied satellite troops against the "Russian threat".

Even a no-brainer understands that the strategy of the Americans in such situations is precisely to "drag the chestnuts" out of the fire with someone else's hands.

RESPONSE

Recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Western Russophobia, accusing the EU of being subordinate to the US and serving Washington’s interests in its Anti-Russian policy, portraying Europe as a vassal of the USA and trying to undermine the sovereignty of European countries.

Contrary to the claim about the EU’s submission to the US, the European Union is a sovereign entity, created by the voluntary initiative of European nations, and it has its own, independent foreign policy. Its citizens are directly represented in the European Parliament and Member States are represented in the European Council and the Council of the EU. The United States of America is not part of these institutions. The US has no say in its decisions. The US is an important ally to the EU but the latter's policy is not determined by the US, as explained by the EU High Representative.

Read similar disinformation cases claiming that EU and NATO member states are subordinate to the US, while the US has long regarded the EU as a kind of protectorate, that lined up with the US, the EU never took independent decisions, that Europe is a colony of the United States, that When the US orders, the EU complies.
