Disinfo: The USA and NATO carry out a propaganda war around WWII history in order to defame and isolate Russia and President Putin

Summary

The [historical] facts will not stop Western mainstream media and Twitter “experts” from making various accusations against President Putin and the Russian Federation. The [historical] facts will not stop the Poles from denying their dark history from the 1930s. It is a part of a dangerous US/NATO campaign aimed at defamation and isolation of the Russian Federation and its President. Thus, the propaganda war around World War II will continue.

Disproof

This message is part of the Kremlin’s policy of historical revisionism, it accuses the USA, EU and NATO of the“falsification and re-writing” of WWII history in order to harm Russia. Any disagreement with the Kremlin’s official view on the history of WWII is automatically labelled by Russia as support for “Nazism” or “falsification of history”. The same article makes another claim about the European Parliament and the OSCE promoting false history. The claim that the USA and NATO carry out a propaganda war around WWII history aimed at the “defamation and isolation” of Russia and President Putin should be perceived as a conspiracy theory. The European Parliament resolution on the importance of European remembrance for the future of Europe stressed the fact that WWII was an immediate result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. The resolution is aimed at the promotion of historical remembrance about WWII and condemnation of totalitarian ideologies. It is a proven fact that the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact contained the Secret Supplementary Protocol, which assumed the division of Poland and other Eastern European countries between the USSR and Germany. Thus, the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact enabled the German and Soviet military aggression against Poland in September 1939, which resulted in the occupation of this country by Germany and USSR, triggering the beginning of WWII. See other examples of this message: “Fake history” became a norm in the Western World, Western countries revise WWII history to evade responsibility for allowing Hitler to gather strength for the attack on the USSR and The European Parliament resolution on the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact is aimed at the demonisation of Russia.

The West promised Moscow that NATO will not expand eastwards

The West promised Moscow in the course of the negotiations on German unification in 1990 that NATO will not expand eastwards. In the book, the Swiss historian Daniele Ganser also discusses NATO’s eastward expansion, although the West promised Moscow in the course of the negotiations on German unification in 1990 that it would not come to that.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative that NATO had promised Russia not to expand to the East and that NATO has an aggressive agenda. NATO allies take decisions by consensus and these are recorded. There is no record of any decision been taken by NATO about putting a halt to enlargement to the East. Personal assurances from individual leaders cannot replace Alliance consensus and do not constitute formal NATO agreements. Moreover, at the time of the alleged promise, the Warsaw Pact still existed, which by definition precluded any member of The Pact joining NATO. Its members did not agree on its dissolution until 1991. This was confirmed by Mikhail Gorbachev himself in an interview with Russia Beyond the Headlines:

The topic of 'NATO expansion' was not discussed at all, and it was not brought up in those years. I say this with full responsibility. Not a single Eastern European country raised the issue, not even after the Warsaw Pact ceased to exist in 1991. Western leaders did not bring it up either.

Central and Eastern European countries began seeking NATO membership in the early 1990s. NATO actively sought to create a cooperative environment that was conducive to enlargement while simultaneously building special relations with Russia. Also, NATO does not "expand" in the imperialistic sense as described by pro-Kremlin media. Rather, it considers the applications of candidate countries who want to join the Alliance based on their own national will. NATO enlargement is not directed against Russia. See more similar disinfo cases alleging that NATO promised Russia it would not expand to the East and that giving Ukraine special status is just an opportunity for NATO to expand eastwards. The US empire staged a secret coup in Ukraine in 2014

The US empire staged a secret coup in Ukraine in 2014. According to the Swiss historian Daniele Ganser, the US empire there (in Ukraine), in accordance with the strategy of ‘divide and rule’, stirred up tension and in 2014 overthrew the government in a secret coup. But he says it is rarely said in public that Obama has staged a coup in Ukraine.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine's statehood which claims that the Euromaidan protests were organised by foreign forces. There was no coup d’état in 2014. The spontaneous onset of massive Euromaidan protests was a reaction of the Ukrainian population to the sudden departure of President Yanukovych from the Association Agreement with the European Union and to the brutal dispersal of student protest actions on 30 November 2013. It was not the United States, but Russia that triggered the military conflict after the Euromaidan in Ukraine. The US did not interfere in Ukraine in 2014. Ukraine is a sovereign state. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by almost the whole world, including the US. The US works closely with Ukraine and supports its democratic development in accordance with the UN Charter’s principles of non-interference into internal affairs and respect towards territorial integrity and political independence. The west is craving for lewdness

American diplomats raised the gay flag on their country’s embassy building in Moscow … coinciding with the start of the vote on a package of constitutional amendments, including “protecting the institution of marriage as a union between men and women.”

The West has turned to new sodom in its craving for lewdness.

Disproof

This message is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the moral decay of the West and the propaganda of the morally corrupt West, aiming to encourage Russophobia.

The British and U.S. embassies in the Russian capital both flew rainbow flags to celebrate Pride Month, along with a joint statement from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States calling to “protect the rights of all its citizens, including sexual minorities… as expressed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”.
