Disinfo: The West is hostile to all the states that try to establish partnership relations with Russia

Summary

The Collective West is hostile to all the states and all the peoples who are on the path to establishing a partnership with Russia. Belarus is a clear example of this.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the West's aggressive Russophobic policy and allegedly belligerent and hostile agenda to contain Russia, as well as Western attempts to disrupt Belarus-Russia relations. These claims are unfounded.

Western countries have no plans to harm the independence or sovereignty of Belarus but had to react to events in Belarus. The EU did not recognise the falsified results of the Belarusian Presidential election on 9 August 2020 and the new mandate claimed by Alyaksandr Lukashenka. On 19 August 2020, the European Council called the Belarus elections neither free nor fair and on 2 October 2020, the Council imposed restrictive measures against 40 individuals identified as responsible for repression and intimidation against peaceful demonstrators, opposition members, and journalists, as well as for misconduct of the electoral process.

The EU imposed new restrictive measures against the Belarusian regime to respond to the escalation of serious human rights violations in Belarus and the violent repression of civil society, democratic opposition and journalists, as well as to the forced landing of a Ryanair flight in Minsk on 23 May 2021 and the related detention of journalist Raman Pratasevich and Sofia Sapega.

At the same time, the EU continues to support the Belarusian people and civil society and outlined a 3 billion EUR economic support package to a future democratic Belarus.

Disinfo: Navalny: Russia still waits for answers from France, Germany and Sweden

Russia will wait until 16 October to receive some substantial answers from France, Germany and Sweden concerning the Navalny case. These three countries have not provided the information requested by Russia according to the OPCW regulations in order to proceed in finding if there is any proof of a crime committed in the Navalny case.

Disproof

Recurring disinformation narrative surrounding the poisoning of a prominent Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny.

Alexei Navalny fell ill during a flight from Siberia to Moscow on 20 August 2020. Initially hospitalised in Omsk, at the request of his family, he was transferred to Charité hospital in Berlin, where clinical findings indicated that he was poisoned with a substance from the group of cholinesterase inhibitors. Subsequent toxicological tests provided unequivocal evidence of a chemical nerve agent of the Novichok group in his blood samples.

Disinfo: The Italian Nazi pass is needed to work if you are not vaccinated with the experimental vaccine

The Italian Nazi pass is needed to work if you are not vaccinated with the experimental vaccine. The government follows a discriminatory policy based on the green card.

Disproof

Recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that Western governments have exploited the coronavirus pandemic in order to abolish liberal democracies and establish dictatorships. It also conveys a recurring anti-vaccine message questioning the validity of vaccines, which are described as experimental. Neither claims are true.

The European Covid Digital Certificate, called the Green Pass in Italy, is a certificate introduced to attest to the non-infected status with Covid-19, is required for workers in the public and private sectors, but also for travel over long distances and across national borders. The Green Pass can be presented by both vaccinated and unvaccinated citizens, subject to a negative test Covid test or a certificate proving recent recovery. It is true that workers have protested over the implementation of the Green Pass, but the main demands from business and trade unions to the government on this measure are the extension of the validity of medical tests for the unvaccinated and the free availability of Covid-19 tests.

Disinfo: Americans developed a technology that can strip states of their sovereignty without war

Americans have developed a technology that can exploit states, completely strip them of their sovereignty and identity, and subject them to American will without war, by influencing society and forming new indicative symbols in it, directing this society against the state through national administrations, and forcing it to submit to the will of America.

Disproof

The article’s message is consistent with the broad pro-Kremlin narrative that depicts ordinary political opposition as attempts by the United States or the West to instigate unrest aimed at overthrowing unwelcome regimes in post-Soviet states and other regions.

This narrative claims that protests, disorders and civil uprisings are never manifestations of popular discontent or the results of internal political discussions or dynamics, but are merely 'colour revolutions' directed and funded by Western intelligence services or other Western actors in order to destabilise targeted foreign states and bring about regime change. As such, this narrative is based on a disregard for local peoples' aspirations.
