DISINFO: The West wants to force Ukraine to concede territory
SUMMARY
The Kyiv regime can lose Kharkiv and Odesa if it continues to refuse negotiations. The Ukrainians will have to give up a large part of the country’s eastern territory. Sooner or later, the West will force Ukraine to start negotiations with Moscow - the Ukrainians will have to agree to territorial concessions in order to achieve peace. If the Western countries had not forced Zelenskyy to start the offensive, it would have been possible to avoid the armed conflict and the loss of Ukrainian control over its territories.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative alleging that Ukraine is a Western puppet. The claim aims to deflect any responsibility for Russia’s unjustified full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which began on 24 February 2022. By emphasizing Ukraine’s alleged lack of sovereignty, the article aims to undermine its statehood.
The position of Ukraine, the USA and the EU is that the Ukrainian conflict should end with the restoration of full Ukrainian control over its territories. According to the UN, Ukrainian territorial integrity should be fully restored.
The EU Council Conclusions of 09 February 2023 state unequivocally:
"Russia must stop this atrocious war immediately. The European Union will stand by Ukraine with its steadfast support for as long as it takes."
The EU supports Ukraine’s initiative for a just peace, including:
- President Zelenskyy’s peace formula
- Ukraine’s 10-point peace plan
- a peace formula summit.
The claim that Ukraine is controlled by Western countries is groundless. Ukraine is not controlled by the US, EU or any other foreign entity. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity have been violated by continuous acts of aggression by Russian armed forces since 2014 culminating in a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022.
