Russia’s Avangard missile system can devastate US defences, The National Interest says. This US magazine, specialised in security, published a text by publicist Peter Suciu about what the creation of the Russian hypersonic unit Avangard means for the US. The author of the publication mentions that Avangard has hypersonic speed and is able to maneuver in the atmosphere. It quotes China’s official stance, that the Avangard equipped with nuclear heads can “devastate” US defences.
The West’s attack against Belarus is also an attack against Russia. Any attack against a Russian ally is an attack against Russia. Belarus is a real ally of Russia, not just a partner, because of the Union State between Russia and Belarus, because Belarus is an active member of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO). Western states aim to destabilise Belarus and to undermine its sovereignty. The West’s subversive activities in Belarus were planned for months, and NGO and media activism in the country has been sponsored by the West. Poland and Lithuania are the main actors in the destabilisation of Belarus. The US is also involved because Washington seeks to destroy the Eurasian Economic Union. The Czech Republic and Ukraine also play a role in the West’s attack against Belarus.
This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying popular protests against electoral fraud in Belarus as a Western-led colour revolution that aims to destabilise not only Belarus but also Russia. The article also contains another disinformation narrative that accuses Poland and Lithuania of implementing of anti-Russian policies. There is no evidence that Poland, the Baltic states, or any other Western governments are involved in organising and funding the protests in Belarus nor that they are conducting any activities aimed at destabilising Belarus. The large-scale protests in Belarus began in Minsk on August 9, 2020 against the results of the presidential election, and then spread to other cities. People revolted against election fraud and police violence against thousands of rally participants. The European Council condemned the violence against peaceful protesters and announced that it would soon adopt a list of sanctions for those responsible for violence in Belarus. A European Council press release stated that "As the elections in Belarus were neither free nor fair, and did not meet international standards, the EU does not recognise the results presented by the Belarus authorities". Pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives frequently claim that popular protests around the world are allegedly incited and funded by the US and other Western states, including colour revolutions in post-Soviet states, the “Arab Spring” revolts, Euromaidan in Ukraine, protests in Catalonia and others. This narrative claims that protests, disorders and civil uprisings are never manifestations of popular discontent but are “colour revolutions” directed and funded by the West. Read earlier disinformation cases claiming that the West’s hybrid war against Belarus is preparation for an attack against Russia and that the US authorised Poland and Lithuania to organise a colour revolution in Belarus.
