DISINFO: There are more than 4 million refugees in Germany

SUMMARY

About 3 million Afghan refugees are stuck in Iran. Tehran with the great effort delays them, not allowing to continue their way further to Germany or France. If the Afghans succeed in entering Europe, Germany will be doomed. There are already more than 4 million refugees (mainly from Syria). And France is not in the best shape although there are not so many migrants there. But the situation in North Africa shows that Paris will still be weeping because of this problem.

RESPONSE

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the migration crisis in Europe. Exaggerated and unproven information on 4 million refugees in Germany. No evidence or reliable sources given. During 2015 and 2016, Germany admitted more than one million persons seeking protection. Germany reported the largest total number of immigrants (917.1 thousand) in 2017. According to a recent (February 2019) factsheet from the UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency), the number of refugees in Germany is 1,4 million.
