Disinfo: Trump administration has registered an appeal for the recognition of the DPR and LPR

Summary

The administration of the US president Donald Trump registered an appeal for recognition of the Donbas republics.

Disproof

Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative attempting to show that different countries are ready to recognise Donbas as a separate part of Ukraine. Such narratives also repeat the lie that Russia is “not a part of the conflict” in Ukraine, and that it is an "internal conflict".

In fact, anyone can register a similar appeal with the White House through a form on the official site. However, receiving such a letter does not mean that the White House agrees with the information that will be in the letter.

The official position of the US regarding events in Ukraine has not changed. ''U.S. policy is centred on supporting Ukraine in the face of continued Russian aggression as it advances reforms to strengthen democratic institutions, fight corruption, and promote conditions for economic growth and competition. The United States does not recognise Russia’s attempted annexation of Crimea and continues to seek a diplomatic solution to the Russia-instigated conflict in eastern Ukraine," according to the US Department of State.

US embassy promotes sex between minors

Gay flags appeared on the buildings of American diplomatic missions in many countries, such as Russia, Israel, Latvia, Poland, South Korea, Switzerland, Germany and Italy. Russia responded to this provocative US move by saying that any manifestations of propagating unconventional sexual relations between minors in Russia are unacceptable.

Disproof

This disinformation message is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about Western moral decay, as well as imposing on countries values that destroy the moral foundations of traditional societies.

The narrative about “threatened values” is adapted to a wide range of topics and typically used to discredit liberal Western attitudes about the rights of women, ethnic and religious minorities and LGBTQ groups, among others. According to this narrative, the “effeminate West” is rotting under the onslaught of decadence, feminism, homosexuality and “political correctness”, while Russia defends traditional family values.

Extension of European sanctions on Syria is a crime against humanity

The European Union’s extension of its measures against Syria, in parallel with Washington’s implementation of the Caesar Act and in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, rises to the level of a crime against humanity.

Western countries are hypocrites, crying about the humanitarian situation in terrorist-controlled areas, while imposing an economic blockade on the entire Syrian people.

Disproof

A recurring pro-Kremlin disnformation narrative about sanctions against the Syrian regime trying to portray them as illegal and targeting the Syrian population.

The EU and US sanctions do not target the Syrian population but individuals and companies who are involved with a political regime that has committed war crimes. See our video here for further details.

Ukrainian authorities substitute values and falsify history with the help of LGBT flag

The incident with the LGBT flag over the Motherland monument in Kyiv is an example of how the Ukrainian authorities are consistently implementing a programme to substitute values and falsify history.

Kyiv’s attempts to erase the truth about the Great Patriotic War and the orientation to perverted values, as well as discrimination on the basis of language and desecration of monuments, were the main reasons that the inhabitants of the Crimean peninsula voted in a referendum in 2014 for the reunification of Russia.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the moral decay and degradation of Ukraine bundled together with accusations of language discrimination to justify why the inhabitants of the Crimean peninsula "voted in a referendum in 2014 for the reunification of Russia". This latter claim has been debunked by EUvsDisinfo hundreds of times (see here).
