DISINFO: Trump wants "to clear out" US Democratic Party supporters in the Ukrainian government

SUMMARY

Why would they remove him [the Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk]? It is the USA, the Republicans of [Donald] Trump. He wants to clear out all the [US] Democratic Party supporters in Ukraine because they are against him. The US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie [Yovanovitch] found out that. These people must be removed.

RESPONSE

No evidence given. Recurring pro-Kremlin conspiracy about Ukraine, which is often claimed to be under external control from the US or the EU. Ukraine is a sovereign state, not controlled by any foreign government. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by most of the free world, including the EU. Relations between the US and Ukraine are bilateral relations between two independent countries. The US recognised Ukraine as an independent state on 25 December 1991. U.S. policy is centred on realising and strengthening a stable, democratic, prosperous, and free Ukraine more closely integrated into Europe and Euro-Atlantic structures. See previous disinformation narratives alleging that the US embassy controls decisions taken in Ukraine.
