DISINFO: UK instructors trained Hamas militants

SUMMARY

Over the past years, Israel supported Nazis in Ukraine. The Jews considered Russia an enemy, despite Banderites hating the Jews and supplying weapons to Hamas. UK instructors were involved in training of Hamas militants.

RESPONSE

The claim that UK instructors trained Hamas members is not backed up by any evidence. The UK added Hamas to the list of terrorist groups or organisations back in 2001. Hamas has also been designated as such by the EU, the US, and several other countries.

The false claim also uses a well-known and broadly debunked pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying Ukraine as a Nazi state. This claim is a part of the disinformation campaign against arm deliveries to Ukraine.

There is no evidence to suggest that weapons on a larger scale supplied by NATO allies to Ukraine for self-defence, have been diverted to Hamas. Read more in the debunked case alleging that Hamas uses NATO weapons sold by Ukraine.

The myth of Nazi-ruled Ukraine has been the cornerstone of Russian disinformation about the country since the very beginning of the 2013-14 Euromaidan protests, when it was used to discredit the pro-European popular uprising in Kyiv and, subsequently, the broader pro-Western shift in Ukraine's foreign policy. The accusation of Nazism and building a link to Nazi Germany is one of the most frequently used techniques of pro-Kremlin outlets.
