DISINFO: Ukraine and the UK are preparing a provocation against the UN ammonia initiative

The Kyiv regime is preparing a provocation to disrupt the UN initiative to resume the transit of ammonia through the Tolyatti-Odesa pipeline. This will include a deliberate detonation of the ammonia storage tanks at the Odesa Port. The Ukrainian authorities will blame these explosions on Russian “missile strikes”. This provocation will be planned and carried out under the supervision of the British intelligence services based in Odesa. The contractors of the Canadian company GardaWorld are also involved in the provocation - this company is responsible for the protection of the port infrastructure in Odesa.

A recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative about dangerous nuclear and chemical provocations, which are supposed to be organised by Ukraine, UK and US in order to blame Russia.

Recently, Ukraine was repeatedly accused by Russian state and Kremlin-affiliated outlets of plans to create a “dirty bomb”.

This time, Ukraine is accused of a plan to destroy the ammonia pipeline and Odesa port facilities in order to disrupt the UN initiative to resume the export of Russian ammonia fertilisers through Ukraine.

The goal of this disinformation story is to portray Ukraine and the UK as evil actors responsible for obstructing the reintroduction of Russian fertilisers to the global markets. As both US and EU sanctions currently do not cover fertilisers and food exports, pro-Kremlin disinformation is resorting to unsubstantiated allegations to mask what is largely the result of Russia’s lack of willingness to compromise at the UN-backed talks on this issue and ultimately the consequence of Russia’s unjustified invasion of Ukraine.

Baseless claims of false flag operations are a frequent pro-Kremlin disinformation technique.
