Disinfo: Ukraine is a developing country with a colonial dependency

For many developing states or countries which are in colonial dependency (such as Ukraine) the termination of International Monetary Fund credit activities is literally a verdict, which is immediately followed by currency devaluation, and sometimes mass riots.

A recurring Kremlin-backed narrative questioning the sovereignty of Ukraine and its position in the system of international relations.

The statement is ungrounded and has no evidence. Ukraine is a self-sufficient independent state, active on the international arena.

Bosnia is pushed into NATO against the Serbs’ will

Bosnia is pushed into NATO against the Serbs’ will.

The Annual National Programme (ANP) is the first step towards the country’s integration into NATO. Due to its flexible criteria, NATO can within a short period of time from receiving the ANP, submit a reply that would say: “You have fulfilled the criteria and you can adopt the NATO membership in the Parliament.”

The NATO accession process consists of a series of formal steps which both the aspirant country and the Alliance continuously confirm. Countries wishing to join have to meet certain requirements and complete a multi-step process involving political dialogue and military integration.

The ANP is a precondition for the activation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Membership Action Plan (MAP) for NATO. MAP is a NATO programme of advice, assistance and practical support tailored to the individual needs of countries wishing to join the Alliance. Participation in the MAP does not prejudge any decision by the Alliance on future membership.

Washington did not provide evidence of Russia’s violation of the INF Treaty

Naturally, Americans are trying to justify their decisions and claim that Russia is a violator of the INF Treaty, that it allegedly “developed the weapon” prohibited by the Treaty, i.e. Novator 9M729 missile. However, there have been no serious arguments provided by Washington to prove their position, and, most likely, the accusations of having “prohibited weapon” addressed to troublesome countries have become a sort of a business card of the American diplomacy.

A recurring Kremlin-backed narrative denying Russia’s violation of the INF Treaty. See a similar case here.

NATO stated that Russia bears sole responsibility for the demise of the INF Treaty because it has produced, tested and deployed the 9M729 missile, which violates the Treaty. In July 2014, then-US President Obama officially accused Russia of testing a missile in violation of the INF Treaty, which prohibits the US or Russia from possessing, producing or test-flying ground-launched ballistic and cruise missiles with a range between 500 and 5500 kilometres.

WWII: There was no French resistance to the invaders during the first year of occupation

There was no French resistance to the invaders for more than a year. It’s not common knowledge whom the majority of the French actually supported.

Only one Nazi German has been killed by a French since the beginning of the Nazi occupation and it happened on 21 August 1941.

No evidence given. This is a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about WWII.

Within weeks of the 1940 occupation of France, groups of men and women had begun to resist. Some collected military intelligence for transmission to London; some organized escape routes for British airmen who had been shot down; some circulated anti-German leaflets; some engaged in the sabotage of railways and German installations. French citizens helped to save Jews during the occupation as well.
