Disinfo: Ukraine is being prepared for a full-scale war with Russia

Summary

All this hype with a poll of the Ukrainian population by President Zelenskyy was conceived with only one goal, to get support for plans to organise foreign military bases in Ukraine and create a springboard for a full-scale war with Russia.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine and the country's attempts to start a war with Russia. According to the Ukrainian President's office, on the day of the local elections, 25 October, Ukrainians will be asked five questions on various issues. This poll, unlike a referendum, will not have direct legal consequences but will give every citizen an opportunity to comment on issues important to society. Also, among the questions, there is no mention of the placement of foreign bases in Ukraine, just like there are no claims about preparing for a war with Russia. Read similar case claims that Ukraine is going to launch a missile strike on Russia.

According to a US plan, Ukraine must become an agrarian state with widespread poverty

The Western countries did not abandon the colonisation policy, only the technologies for seizing new territories changed over time. Ukraine has become just one of those countries in which the United States is testing new techniques. […] according to the US plan, Ukraine should develop along the lines of Latin American, agrarian economies with poor education and widespread poverty.

Disproof

Conspiracy with no evidence given. Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine, which is often claimed to be under external control from the US, NATO, the EU, or IMF.

Ukraine is a sovereign state. The US does not control Ukraine and does not plan to turn Ukraine into a vassal state. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by most of the free world, confirmed by the resolutions of the United Nations, but violated by Russia.

Germany has a serious problem with freedom of speech

No one will disagree that Germany has a serious problem with freedom of speech.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that Western societies enjoy little to no freedom of speech and/or press. The German Constitution not only recognizes freedom of the press as a vital component of freedom of expression, but even upholds it as "an independent and separate freedom under article 5 of the Basic Law." Accordingly, Reporters Without Borders ranks Germany as the 11th media-friendliest state globally, noting that the country's "[s]olid constitutional gaurantees and an independent judiciary ensure a favourable environment for journalists." Pro-Kremlin outlets routinely decry the alleged erosion of press freedom in various Western states, while simultaneously claiming that Russian journalists enjoy far greater liberties than their European counterparts. Sputnik V criticism is pure politics

Criticism of the Russian Coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V is of purely political nature and is not related to either health or medicine.

Disproof

This is part of a pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign on the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V, which was met with skepticism and criticism, even by Russian specialists.

Reservations about the Russian Sputnik V vaccine are caused by the fact that Russia didn’t complete the large trials which WHO insists that a vaccine must undergo involving thorough testing to examine the vaccine’s safety and efficacy before it is released. Rolling out an inadequately vetted vaccine could endanger the people receiving it.
