Disinfo: Ukraine will disintegrate into small quasi-states

Summary

Ukraine is nothing else but a parasite state that is sponging on regions that are not associated with Ukraine in any way. In such circumstances, its current state policy will result in the already disintegrating Ukraine falling into pieces of quasi-states in its southeast, central region and its west.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about disintegration of Ukraine.

Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state with a democratically-elected president and parliament where political power has been peacefully transferred as a result of democratic elections. However its sovereignty and territorial integrity continue to be violated by acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces since February 2014.

A disintegrating and artificial Ukraine is a recurring element of pro-Kremlin disinformation. Explore similar cases here, including one about Ukraine falling into three pieces and another claiming that Ukraine will eventually disintegrate due to its Western orientation.

Disinfo: Belarus stopped protecting the border with Poland because of hostile Polish actions

Why should Belarus continue protecting the border in the interest of a neighbour [Poland] who has been conducting hostile policy towards this country for years, interfering in its internal affairs and imposing sanctions on Belarus? Instead of foolish and derogatory offers of sending humanitarian aid to the Belarusians, maybe it is time to start talking to Belarus in a normal way? The Polish authorities should talk to the real Belarus, but not the Belarus they imagine. After all, we will not solve this problem [migration crisis] with Tsikhanouskaya.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Western attempts to organise a colour revolution in Belarus presenting Poland as a country with hostile and aggressive plans towards Belarus. This message also promotes a recurring disinformation narrative about the ongoing migration crisis orchestrated by the Belarusian authorities.

The claims that Poland was involved in unfriendly actions towards Belarus or that it has some aggressive geopolitical plans towards this country are unfounded. Poland is a neighbour of Belarus and continues to support the Belarusian people. Poland respects the principles of international law and does not intervene in the domestic affairs of any country.

Disinfo: Europe is a military colony of the United States and European countries are obedient vassals of the Americans

Europe is a military colony of the United States and European countries, especially Eastern European ones, are obedient vassals of the Americans. Eastern European states have freed themselves from Soviet Union only to grovel to Washington.

Disproof

A recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about the US presence in Europe and alleged loss of sovereignty of European states. Pro-Kremlin outlets often portray European states, especially Eastern European states, as vassals, puppet-states or colonies of the United States.

The unfounded claim that European nations lack sovereignty and follow Washington’s orders aims to discredit specific European states, especially Eastern European ones, and also to support the message that the United States manipulates European allies in order to carry out its anti-Russian policies.

Disinfo: NATO mission has ended with the dissolution of the USSR

What we are waiting to hear from the American president is ambitious plans to dismantle NATO, whose mission has effectively ended with the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the need to dismantle NATO after the Soviet Union ceased to exist.

NATO’s objectives are set out in the 1949 Washington Treaty which forms the legal basis of the alliance. The treaty states that parties “are resolved to unite their efforts for collective defence and for the preservation of peace and security”.
