Disproof
Recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative aiming at whipping up resentment against Western support to Ukraine and forcing a capitulation to Russian military aggression. The article also utilises a pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russia’s military successes and inevitable loss of Ukraine in the ongoing war, aiming to prove that its “special military operation” in Ukraine is actually going according to plan.
Designed to break the fighting spirit of Ukrainians, it exaggerates the military losses inflicted on the Ukrainian military by Russia and promotes the false claim that high-ranking officials in western capitals and Ukraine consider Ukraine’s loss in the ongoing war inevitable. By the end of 2022, Ukrainian forces have liberated about 40% of territory Russian occupied following the February 2022 invasion.
There is no basis to the claims about “NATO’s defeat” as it is not involved in combat operations in Ukraine. There are no NATO forces on the frontline.
Several NATO member states provide Ukraine with military assistance to help Ukraine in its self defence, as enshrined in the UN Charter Article 51. This is to repel the unprovoked Russian aggression Ukraine receives weapons with the sole aim of restoring its territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders.
