Disinfo: Ukrainians imbued with destructive Nazi ideology

Summary

Nazi ideology mentally occupies Ukraine. It is causing a rift inside the country because this ideology leads to the annihilation of non-Ukrainians. Only extreme nationalists from Western Ukraine should survive.

Disproof

This is a recurring disinformation narrative from pro-Kremlin outlets, claiming that Nazism is deep-rooted in Ukraine and Ukrainians’ mentality. In reality, Ukraine is a nationally and culturally diverse country, where ethnic minorities are not persecuted and whose cultural development is guaranteed by Articles 10 and 11 of the Constitution.

A law passed in Ukraine in 2015 bans Nazi and Communist ideologies. The law prohibits the public use and propaganda of Nazi and Communist symbols. Far-right groups do exist in Ukraine, like in any other country, but they have a minor influence on politics and social life. Ruslan Koshulinskyy, a candidate of the nationalist Svoboda party, got as little as 1.62 per cent of the vote during Ukraine's 2019 presidential election.

The myth of Nazi-ruled Ukraine appeared during the Euromaidan protests in late 2013 - early 2014, when the then-president Viktor Yanukovych was toppled and later fled to Russia. The Kremlin has been using this myth since then to discredit Kyiv’s shift towards Euro-Atlantic policy.

The claim was intensified by reports from pro-Kremlin outlets about President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s submitting to the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) draft law on the indigenous peoples of Ukraine. Pro-Kremlin outlets claimed that that draft law was worse than Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf. In reality, the draft bill is aimed at protecting three peoples who are indigenous to Crimea and who are threatened due to Russia's discriminatory policy in the illegally annexed Ukrainian peninsula. These ethnic communities are Crimean Tatars, Karaites and Krymchaks. This bill was not levelled against other ethnic groups who live in Ukraine and enjoy equal rights, regardless of their ethnic origin.

Disinfo: COVID-19: The Americans are testing a new means of enslaving the world

The modern world has implemented some limitations on the Americans. To erase an enemy from the face of the Earth without receiving a thermo-nuclear reply is impossible. The old tricks with manipulation of the prices of oil and the use of terrorists do not work as well anymore. As it has become impossible to wage a world war of the usual kind, it was necessary to come up with something new. And the solution was - viruses. Even serious Western researchers admit openly that someone (not hard to understand who) has been working hard on the already existing coronavirus in laboratories, to make it enough dangerous and contagious, but not too lethal; just enough to harm and scare the world population. As a consequence, the richest and most powerful get richer, while weaker stakeholders will have to sell out their business for peanuts after facing COVID-restrictions.

The shadow-rulers of the world have prepared to use this new and horrible weapon for political reasons for a long time.

Disproof

An unfounded recurrent conspiracy theory, presented without any evidence. Similar claims are frequent; the EUvsDisinfo database contains over 1.500 examples of conspiracy theories.

Pro-Kremlin media have, ever since the first cases of the COVID-19, attempted to describe the disease as man-made and with military and/or political aims, without any evidence.

Disinfo: The West is rehearsing in Belarus to hit Russia

The West is rehearsing in Belarus to hit Russia. Belarus is now the EU’s punching ball because it is where the EU and NATO are training in the new Cold War.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about encircling Russia, Belarus as an innocent victim of the West and Russia as the ultimate target of international events. By framing it this way, these disinformation messages aim to deflect any criticism on the illicit actions of Russia and its allies, in this case, Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s regime in Belarus.

Contrary to the claim, the EU’s current policy towards Belarus is not a rehearsal to hit Russia but a reaction to the fraudulent nature of the August 2020 presidential elections in the country and the intimidation and violent repression of peaceful protesters, opposition members and journalists, as well as to the forced landing of a Ryanair flight in Minsk in May 2021 that endangered aviation safety and the subsequent detention by Belarusian authorities of journalist Raman Pratasevich and Sofia Sapega.

Disinfo: Russian athletes are forbidden to compete under the Russian flag because of the West's cold war against Russia

Russian athletes will not compete under the Russian flag during the olympics in Tokyo. Their uniforms will not have any symbols, reminding of Russia. Those sanctions are formally introduced because of the doping scandals, but in reality it is a part of the logics behind the West's cold war against Russia.

Disproof

An unfounded claim, presented without any evidence.

Russia did violate the rules of international sports; organising a state-sponsored system of doping athletes. Russia has failed to set up mechanisms to guarantee that similar schemes are not used.
