Disinfo: US agents attempt to overthrow Lukashenka along the Ukrainian scenario

Over the past years, American special bodies have introduced their agents in the Belarusian governing institutions and use them to overthrow Alyaksandr Lukashenka along the Ukrainian scenario and capture the state power. US agents attempt to manipulate Lukashenka to bring discord in his relations with Russia. The Belarusian authorities should talk less about alleged covert Russian actions and rather expose and arrest US agents.

This is a conspiracy consistent with a recurring pro-Kremlin propaganda narrative about the West's attempts to disrupt Belarus-Russia relations through various actions, this time with the use of secret agents among high-ranking officials. No proof whatsoever is given to support this claim.

The article implicitly claims that the West overthrew former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovich, which supports another propaganda narrative about the Western-staged coup d'état in Ukraine. In fact, the spontaneous onset of the Euromaidan protests was a reaction from several segments of the Ukrainian population to former President Yanukovych’s sudden departure from the promised Association Agreement with the European Union in November 2013, after pressure from Russia. See the full debunk - The Western-backed coup in Ukraine has torn the country asunder.

See earlier disinformation cases alleging that Belarusian opposition leaders prepare a coup with US military assistance, that the West dreams of tearing Belarus apart from Russia and to organise a Ukraine-like scenario, that Belarusian opposition leader Andrei Sannikau prepares a coup with US military assistance, and that pro-Western Belarusian opposition prepares a revolution with the assistance of armed Ukrainian nationalists.

One day Belarus will become part of Russia, Poland and the Baltic countries will follow

One Sunday morning, Belarus will wake up to learn that it has become a part of Russia. Most probably this will happen without a single shot. Poland and the Baltic states will be next in line.

This case is an illustrative example of Russian expansionism towards Belarus, Poland and the Baltic states, an extreme variation of recurring pro-Kremlin propaganda narrative about Belarus as an integral part of the Russian world. The latter is based on the concept of all-Russian civilisation, an imperial Russian and Russian irredentist ideology that is a favoured pro-Kremlin narrative aimed at weakening the national identity of Belarusians as well as Ukrainians.

This is an example of recurring pro-Kremlin propagandistic narratives about Belarus and Ukraine as an integral part of the Russian worldfascist and imperial WestUkraine as a non-sovereign country, and that Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine are three Russian political nations.

American Caesar Act affects all vital sectors in Syria

… The United States imposed economic sanctions on Syria, the “Caesar Act”, that affects all aspects and vital sectors.

This is a misrepresentation of the new “Caesar Act” sanction regime implemented on Syrian targets, including Bashar Al-Assad.

The Treasury Department and State Department released 39 designations under the “Caesar Act” and Executive Order 13894 that target individuals and businesses that support the Assad regime and obstruct a peaceful, political resolution of the conflict as called for by UNSCR 2254.

Crimea reunited with Russia following the referendum held on the peninsula

Crimea reunited with Russia following the referendum held on the peninsula

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the illegal annexation of Crimea. No international body recognises the so-called referendum, announced on 27th of February and held less than three weeks later.

On March 27th, 2014, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in which it stated that the referendum in Crimea was not valid and could not serve as a basis for any change in the status of the peninsula. The often cited figure of 97% has been contested by the Kremlin’s own Human Rights Council, which estimated that only between 30% and 50% of Crimeans took part in the referendum, of which some 50-60% favoured secession.
