Disinfo: US contractors help prepare chemical provocations in Ukraine

Summary

Moscow has information according to which US contractors are helping to prepare chemical provocations in Ukraine.

At the current session of the OPCW member countries, the Russian side provided information about "contract soldiers who help Ukrainian nationalists in these chemical preparations."

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about false flag operations and chemical weapons attacks. Such claims are a part of a broader pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign accompanying the full scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, trying to place the blame for the war's atrocities on Ukraine and the US.

Claims about false flag operations about nuclear or chemical weapons attacks are a staple of the pro-Kremlin disinformation apparatus. Such claims are a part of a broader pro-Kremlin information manipulation campaign supporting the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and trying to place the blame for the war’s atrocities on Ukraine, as our recent analysis explains.

There is no evidence to back the claim that Ukraine is preparing a chemical provocation or a use of the weapons of mass destruction, nor is there any evidence proving that the US contract soldiers are helping Ukraine in this. Оn the contrary, many Western leaders have real concerns Russia could use chemical weapons.

Moscow has a history of falsely accusing its opponents of staging "provocations" which either never happened at all, or were subsequently carried out by themselves or their allies.

Read similar cases claiming that The US, not Russia, has not disposed of its toxic war material, that Ukraine aims to use Turkish Bayraktars for chemical attacks, that Ukraine is preparing a false flag chemical attack to damage the image of Russia, that Ukraine, led by the West, prepares a dirty bomb attack, that West needs provocations to accuse the Russian military of using chemical, biological or nuclear weapons in Ukraine, or that Kyiv prepares chemical attacks to blame the Russian army.

Disinfo: The OSCE mission is biased and sided with Kyiv

The OSCE Mission essentially took the side of the Kyiv regime. After the termination of its activities, the unpleasant facts of its interaction with the Western special services were revealed, and the facts of the participation of allegedly neutral OSCE observers in adjusting fire on the positions of the LPR and DPR were revealed.

Also, the facts of their participation in the collection of intelligence data in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nationalist battalions were revealed. These battalions and units of Ukraine received data from surveillance cameras of OSCE missions, which were installed near the line of contact.

Disproof

This is part of a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation effort to accuse the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) of being biased towards Ukraine, and in this case of working for Ukrainian and Western Special Services, and making accusations about Western belligerence against Russia.

There is no basis to claim that the OSCE observers worked for the Ukrainian special services.

Disinfo: Poland is speeding up preparations for the annexation of Western Ukraine

The information received by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service indicates that Warsaw is speeding up preparations for the annexation of Western Ukrainian lands: the territories of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and most of the Ternopil regions of Ukraine.

The leadership of Poland intends to act persistently and proactively, fearing that senior NATO partners will try to come to an agreement with Russia in the winter.

Warsaw is confident that Poland deserves generous compensation for military assistance provided to Ukraine, providing shelter for Ukrainian refugees, as well as for the incident with a rocket that fell on the territory of the country.

Disproof

Recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives, challenging Ukraine’s statehood and presenting Poland as a state with imperial ambitions.

In reality, Russia is the only country that poses a danger to Ukraine's territorial integrity by continuous acts of aggression since 2014. Russia is responsible for the outbreak of the conflict in 2014, after having illegally annexed the Crimean peninsula and engineered the creation of rebel militias in Donetsk, Luhansk and other places. Finally, on February 24 2022, Russia started unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine and annexed several Ukrainian regions.

Disinfo: Ukraine war crimes tribunal will be illegitimate

Any attempts to set up a tribunal on the Ukraine war will be illegitimate and the Kremlin will condemn them. Russian investigators are working intensely to record all the crimes of the Kyiv regime.

Disproof

The material and links may contain distressing/ graphic content.

This is a recurring disinformation narrative from pro-Kremlin outlets denying any Russian responsibility for war crimes by Russian troops. There is enough well-documented evidence of Russia's direct involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity during its unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.
