Disinfo: US Elections are clash of straight people and homosexuals

Summary

The 2020 Presidential elections in the United States are an ultimate battle between white, straight people, as well as homosexuals, transgenders and people of colour.

Disproof

Pro-Kremlin disinformation about the United States in the context of the 2020 presidential elections.

The article was aimed at discrediting now President-Elect Joe Biden by alleging that his presidency marks the end of white and straight people in the country, as well as at downgrading the Presidential race to an alleged culture war.

While the pluralist democracy in the US, which consists of the centre-right Republican Party and the centre-left Democratic Party, is a political standoff between conservative-minded and liberal-minded politicians, the election was neither about nor focused on "pro-LGBT forces" who aim to diminish white and straight people.

Strengthening societal divisions is recurring element of pro-Kremlin disinformation the aim of which is to portray Russia as the defender of "traditional culture" against the West. A key part of this disinformation strategy to escalate tensions between people of different colour and sexuality. Earlier examples include how pro-Kremlin media envisaged a potential civil war in the US after the so-called George Floyd protests.

EU supports terrorists and not the sovereignty of Syria

The European Union supports terrorist groups… this is contrary to all the protocols signed between countries and the United Nations Charter.

Europe has not taken any steps towards preserving the unity and sovereignty of Syria.

Disproof

No evidence is given to support this unfounded theory, which can also be considered as a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Syria and the nature of EU sanctions implemented on this country.

On 27 May 2013, the Council of the EU adopted conclusions in which it condemned the violence and the continued widespread and systematic gross violations of human rights in Syria, which resulted into more restrictive measures against Syria on 31 May 2013, while the sanctions that were imposed on 9 May 2011 were extended in May 2020.

CNN and Fox news are pro-Biden and lie all the time, their watchers cannot vote knowingly

Fox News is very, very criticised by a lot of people here (US) precisely because on election night it attributed Arizona to Joe Biden when only 70% of the ballots had been counted in Arizona. There are demonstrations against Fox News denouncing them as well as CNN. CNN is no longer a news channel worthy of the name. There are lies all the time, it’s a big deal. For democracy to work, people must be able to vote knowingly. There are news channels that no longer practice information. There is no longer any possibility for those who watch these channels to vote knowingly.

Disproof

Message aims at undermining the confidence in US news channels and CNN in particular during the US 2020 Presidential elections.

News Guard rates Fox News as 69.5/100 (This website generally maintains basic standards of credibility and transparency -with significant exceptions) and CNN 87.5/100 (This website mostly adheres to basic standards of credibility and transparency).
