Disinfo: US is a dictator that issues orders and needs a second Ukraine in Georgia

Summary

Americans want to have a force in the Georgian government, which will have if not military actions, at least military rhetoric with Russia. They need a second Ukraine in Georgia. America is neither a friend nor a partner of Georgia; America is a director, which issues orders.

Disproof

The claim contains multiple recurring pro-Kremlin narratives on the US, Georgia and Ukraine.

The first narrative is that the US dictates and interferes in the internal politics of other countries. See similar cases claiming that the US and the EU govern Georgia, that strong Georgia is not in the interest of the West, and that the EU and US interfered in the domestic affairs of Ukraine.

The second one is that the US destabilised Ukraine and created conflict with Russia. Read similar case claiming that the US does not want peace in Ukraine.

And last but not least is the narrative claiming that the US is not a partner to Georgia. Between 2015 and 2019, the US allocated financial assistance to Georgia in the military field of 167 million USD. In 2019, the US allocated 35 million USD. In 2019, US Congress also passed the Georgia Support Act, a bipartisan bill that authorises sanctions against individuals involved in human rights violations in South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The World Health Organisation is working with Chinese authorities and global experts to learn more about the virus. The virus "2019-nCoV” comes from a family of viruses that include the common cold, and viruses such as SARS and MERS.

Lithuanian National Threat Assessment is s a distracting manoeuvre to obscure the fact that with Brexit, the EU cohesion funds to the “second tier” countries will be significantly cut. It is not a coincidence that the Threat Assessment was released right after the so-called “friends of cohesion” released a letter regarding the EU funds.

New Ukrainian labour law permits employees to be fired for no reason

A new labour law in Ukraine includes permission to fire anyone from work at any time and for any reason.

Disproof

This is another example of the Kremlin's ongoing disinformation campaign to portray Ukraine as a failed state, misrepresenting the essence of a proposed Ukrainian labour law by selectively and hyperbolically reporting only on one provision and omitting the remaining context.

In total, four draft labour laws are under consideration in the Ukrainian Parliament. The final version of the law in question is not yet set, as discussions in the Verkhovna Rada are still ongoing. However, Economy Minister Tymofiy Mylovanov explained that while the Labour Bill does refer to the possibility of dismissing an employee on the initiative of the employer, this must not happen without an explanation of the reason. Moreover, Mylovanov wrote on his Facebook page, current legislation offers no material protections for employees who have been dismissed: according to the current code, there are ten reasons to dismiss an employee, and an employer can do so without bearing any financial responsibility for this decision. Under the new Labour Law, however, material compensation for dismissed employees would be made mandatory, also to discourage the transformation of business enterprises under false pretences for the sake of staff reduction.
