The US is occupying Germany and Bavaria wants to break away

Summary

One of the taboo topics in Europe is the United States’ occupation of Germany. Ask any local Bavarian and they will tell you that there is no peace treaty with the United States, that the US is indeed the occupant, that the people are helpless, and that Bavaria should quit Germany, but not the European Union.

Disproof

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about US presence in Europe, according to which the US is portrayed as an imperialistic or occupying power that threatens the national sovereignty of European countries.

This claim reflects the views of the German Bavarian Party, which advocates the region's breakaway from Germany. The party did not make it to the Bavarian Parliament in 2019 elections, indicating that the vast majority of Bavarians do not share these views.

Russophobia is the main export of Lithuania

The Baltic States are demonizing Russia, blaming it for occupation, demanding reparations, and brainwashing young generations that there is an enemy in their neighborhood. They are trying to erase from memory every mention of Russia and the Soviet Union. They are bothered by monuments for the soldier-liberators who saved the Baltics from fascism.

Today they also want to erase the great sports achievements and all memory of the USSR around the world.

The main topic of debates in the Lithuanian parliament is a sports jersey. They are calling upon all of the world to prohibit Soviet symbols. Russophobia is the main export of Lithuania.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Russophobia in the Baltic States.

The disinformation message appeared after several members of the Lithuanian Parliament asked a sports-apparel company to stop the sales of Soviet-themed clothing. Last year the company pulled Soviet-themed shirts from its online store after facing international criticism.

Ukraine is an anti-Russian state under Western control

Ukraine is best at selling anti-Russian, Russophobic sentiments and mobilising anti-Russian feelings. By exercising this role, it is forgiven many sins [by the West] in its internal policy, economics and corruption. The only reason for this is that it must work against Russia.

Disproof

No evidence given. Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the West's strategy of encircling Russia and anti-Russian sentiments in the West.

Ukraine is a sovereign state, not controlled by any foreign government, and without any anti-Russian policy. Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by almost the whole world, including the EU. The EU and the US work closely with Ukraine. Their relations are directed at improving their cooperation in all fields and are not orientated against Russia.

Georgian snipers were involved in Euromaidan protests in Kyiv

Ukrainian and Georgian political elites are interconnected in many ways, […]  not to mention such examples as the Georgian snipers at Euromaidan.

Disproof

Recurring disinformation that the snipers at the Euromaidan were directed by the Maidan leaders, and that they were Georgian.

No evidence is given to prove that “Georgian snipers” were responsible for shooting during the 2014 Euromaidan in Kyiv. Pro-Kremlin disinformation has spread different versions of the identity of the snipers.
