Disinfo: US is preparing for collapse of Ukraine

Summary

The United States is preparing for the collapse of Ukraine; the transfer of troops to the Ukrainian borders has already begun. The Americans are clearly preparing for the collapse of Ukraine, for which they intend to create a military group in Poland.

Disproof

This is a disinformation narrative claiming that the West has aggressive intentions to Ukraine. Nobody is going to "collapse Ukraine". The redeployment of a part of the US military to Poland should strengthen the position of NATO and strengthen the measures of restraining Russia, which is pursuing an aggressive policy towards Ukraine. The action is part of the broader plan to reposition US military forces globally to better address the key threats from Russia. In the summer of 2019, the Presidents of the United States and Poland, Donald Trump and Andrzej Duda, signed a Joint Declaration on Defence Cooperation. The main agreements between the parties are to build up the presence of the US military and create special bases for them. Currently, there are about 4500 US troops in Poland on a rotational basis. It is assumed that in the near future the contingent will be increased by a thousand people. The increase in the contingent in Poland may occur due to the redeployment of the US military from Germany.

Conspiracy theory. Powerful explosions occurred in the Beirut port area on the evening of 4 August, as a result of which at least 78 people were killed, about 4,000 were injured, the explosion caused serious damage to several adjacent neighborhoods. The preliminary cause of the powerful explosion is 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate, which was stored for about six years in a warehouse with confiscated goods. Two Ukrainian ships, MERO STAR and RAOUF H, were allegedly in the port of Beirut at the time of the explosion. According to Samir Madani, co-founder of the ship tracking site TankerTrackers, the Ukrainian ships most likely suffered from the explosion, but the ships have nothing to do with the origin of the tragedy. The analyst also added that the Mariupol ship was most likely carrying grain. "These vessels weren't the source of anything explosive other than that they most likely blew up and made things worse.," Madani tweeted. Information about the Ukrainians who were allegedly injured in the explosion in Beirut was being clarified.
