Disinfo: US list of Russian billionaires and top officials is similar to racial segregation, Nazism and Holocaust

Any citizen of Russia may end up in this list [of Russian billionaires and top officials]. These demands were presented to all of us, to the whole nation. Every one of us is bad only because he/she lives in Russia, is Russian. It is something similar to racial segregation. Almost Nazism. There is an analogy from the last century. In Germany they said: a Jew is an enemy of the German nation only because he is a Jew. And they started the Holocaust.

The Holocaust was the systematic, bureaucratic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators.

The US identified 210 Russian billionaires and top officials in a list required under last summer’s sanctions law. Not every citizen of Russia could end up in this list, but only those who are a) senior political figures close to the Russian regime or b) oligarchs with a net worth of $1 billion or more.

The Trump administration was required to publish the list by the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAASTA), which was meant to respond to Russia's interference in the 2016 US election, as well as alleged human rights violations, the annexation of Crimea and ongoing military operations in East of Ukraine. edition.cnn.com/2018/01/29/politics/trump-russia-sanctions/index.html,

Baltic countries don’t oppose Nord Stream 2 anymore

Until recently, the Baltic countries were fiercely against the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline. In the end of last year they suddenly stopped opposing.

In December 2017, pro-Kremlin outlets like Sputnik published articles about sudden change in Baltic countries' position regarding the Nord Stream 2.

The disinformation about the change is based on a statement by prime ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. They note only that "the Nord Stream 2 project, if implemented. must be in full compliance with the EU acquis and the Energy Union principles."

An official delegation of German deputies visited Crimea

German business is ready to work in the Crimea. In order to assess the situation, deputies of the three regional parliaments of Germany arrived in the peninsula for an official visit. The main purpose of the  delegation is to have business meetings.

This wasn't an official delegation. The reaction of the German government spokesman Steffen Seibert:  "We are fundamentally critical of such visits, but private travel does not fall under sanctions.”

Seibert noted that Germany adheres to non-recognition policy due to illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia and that Germany warns those who decide to travel about the legal consequences from Ukraine's side.
