Disinfo: US may give Western Ukraine to Poland if Warsaw pays Kyiv's debt to the US

Poland may receive part of Ukraine from the USA. The territory of Western Ukraine could go to Poland if the country pays off Kyiv's debts to the US. Poland will face financial problems because of the annexation of new territories at the expense of repaying the debt. Such a development will lead to the loss of Ukrainian statehood.

Adapted recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative presenting Poland as having imperial ambitions and claims to Ukrainian territories. This is part of a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative denying the statehood of Ukraine, while also anticipating its imminent disintegration. In addition, the claim also serves to distract attention away from Russia's invasion and war of aggression against Ukraine. The adapted disinformation claim also outlines, that the US would own Ukraine, which has no factual basis, which is the case for all of the article's claims.

Poland adheres to international law regarding state borders, fully supports the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, it does not have any territorial claims against its neighbours and it rejects any “imperial” ambitions towards other countries. It is Russia that started an unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.

Poland is supporting Ukrainian refugees coming to Poland; it is allowing millions of Ukrainians fleeing the war access to the labour market and to health and social benefits. Moreover, Poland is also actively supporting Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion.

Disinfo: The energy crisis in Europe is due to European mistakes, not Russia

Starting from 2014, the EU has committed many economic mistakes leading to the energy crisis. Russia did not voluntarily close the transit routes, blew up the Nord Stream pipelines and initiated a withdrawal from energy cooperation. The German coalition government and its predecessors caused a deepening energy crisis, large-scale gas supply disruptions and increasing inflation. The EU has made many other economic mistakes since 2014, such as increasing inflation by printing the euro and depriving itself of cheap Russian energy.

This message is a part of a popular pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative, claiming that the energy crisis in Europe is caused by an “irrational” European plan to eliminate its dependency on Russian gas. This narrative promotes a traditional pro-Kremlin message that Russia is the only reliable gas source for Europe, while American LNG is too expensive.

After the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Russian authorities completely destroyed European trust in Gazprom as a predictable and solid partner. Throughout 2022, Russia deliberately cut the gas supplies to the EU.

Disinfo: The IAEA will work for its main sponsor: the United States

At the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, one of the priorities of the IAEA experts will be to deny Russia access to American nuclear fuel, even though Russia has no interest in seeing it anyway. The Americans are afraid that Russian's could find faults in American fuel. And since the Americans are the main sponsors of the IAEA, the agency's observers will make sure the Russian observers have no access.

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin claim attempting to discredit independent international organisations, especially those who monitor the implementation and respect of international treaties and instruments such as the OSCE, the OPCW, and now the IAEA.

The claim seeks to divert attention away from the real problem: Russia's illegal overtake of the nuclear power station claiming it as property of the Russian state.

Disinfo: Germany does not provide Leopard tanks to oppose American colonisation of Europe

Germany is reluctant to respond to Western demands to supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks because the main beneficiary of this deal is the United States and its military-industrial complex. Germany keeps such a modest line because of political and internal economic reasons. In the background of the [Ukrainian] conflict, a systemic global economic crisis is unfolding. The United States is de-industrialising Europe, starting with Germany, to subjugate the European economy.

A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the alleged lost sovereignty of the EU and its member states (more examples). Pro-Kremlin outlets often portray European states as vassals, puppet states or colonies of the US and NATO.

The German decision regarding the delivery of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine is not connected to the alleged American “colonisation” of Europe. At the present moment, Germany has a political discussion on a possible supply of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Meanwhile, the German authorities announced that they would not block the supply of these tanks to Ukraine by other NATO countries (such as Poland).
