The Eastern Partnership Programme is a destructive anti-Russian project

The Eastern Partnership Programme, which at the beginning was created to solve the issues of interaction of the post-Soviet countries with the EU, has turned into a destructive anti-Russian project.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing the West, and in this case the EU, of encircling Russia.

The Eastern Partnership (EaP) is a joint policy initiative which aims to deepen and strengthen relations between the European Union (EU), its Member States and its six Eastern neighbours: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Ukrainian language law intentionally discriminates half of Ukraine’s population

It is not just about strengthening the state language in Ukraine. The new law is about discriminating against half of the country’s population.

The law is directed against the Russian-speaking population, first of all, Russians, who are actually forbidden to speak their native language everywhere except at home. And this is almost half the population of the country.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Ukraine and discrimination against Russian speakers.

The Verkhovna Rada passed, on April 25, the law "on ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as a state language".  The law establishes mandatory use of the Ukrainian language in most areas of public and communal life, including the mass media, education, science, etc.

The Eastern Partnership Programme provoked the war in Donbas

The Eastern Partnership programme is the reason why the military conflict in Donbas has lasted for five years.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing the West, and in this case the EU, of encircling Russia and initiating a war in Ukraine.

The Eastern Partnership programme is not directed against any country, including Russia.  It is a joint policy initiative which aims to deepen and strengthen relations between the European Union, its member states and six Eastern neighbours: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
