DISINFO: US protégés in Ukraine will have to flee like Ashraf Ghani

SUMMARY

US protégés in Ukraine will have to flee like Ashraf Ghani. It is unclear if it is Zelenskyy or if he is toppled before that, but they will have to flee in the same manner.

RESPONSE

Pro-Kremlin disinformation message aimed at undermining Ukrainian statehood and portraying it as a puppet-state of the US. The message appeared in the context of the fall of Kabul and Afghanistan to the Taliban.

There is no basis for any of these claims or attempts to compare the situation in Afghanistan to that of Ukraine. The pro-Kremlin media use the events in Afghanistan to predict the end of the so-called 'US hegemony.'

The disinformation message appeared in the same TV broadcast as the claim that Ukrainian Nazis are equivalent to Taliban.
