Disinfo: US secret services behind colour revolutions in different countries

Europe started to realize that US secret services are behind the “yellow vests” protests. US is also involved in colour revolutions that happened in Ukraine and other countries. There are many similarities between the protests in France and those in Ukraine. Only the US have enough capacity to organise such protests.

No evidence given. Recurring pro-Kremlin conspiracy narrative about "yellow vests" and US secret services' involvement in Europe. For background: The spontaneous onset of the Euromaidan protests was a reaction of large parts of the Ukrainian population to former President Yanukovych’s sudden departure from the Association Agreement with the European Union in November 2013. The vast majority of the protesters (up to two million at one time nationwide) consisted of peaceful Ukrainian citizens.

Cases in the EUvsDisinfo database focus on messages in the international information space that are identified as providing a partial, distorted, or false depiction of reality and spread key pro-Kremlin messages. This does not necessarily imply, however, that a given outlet is linked to the Kremlin or editorially pro-Kremlin, or that it has intentionally sought to disinform. EUvsDisinfo publications do not represent an official EU position, as the information and opinions expressed are based on media reporting and analysis of the East Stratcom Task Force.

Map shows: EU on fire

Tweet: “Past month has been really rough on the EU, as protests, both violent and non-violent, have consumed some of the largest countries in the bloc.” [The map shows UK, France, Spain, Norway, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Greece.]

An exaggeration and a sensationalist narrative, along typical pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives, seeking to exacerbate and exaggerate tensions. Demonstrations, when not violent, are part of the democracy. Pro-Kremlin media often uses maps as a way to mislead and distort. Norway is not an EU country.

CIA behind establishment of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The American embassy was one of the first to congratulate Ukraine on the day of calling the Ukrainian Orthodox Church into life. Only two days earlier, a former CIA officer Jack Devine was awarded a prize from the Kyiv patriarch for supporting Ukrainian independence and creation of the autocephalic church. Those two facts are a proof of CIA being involved in establishing the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

No evidence given. Recurring pro-Kremlin conspiracy theory about CIA and narrative about Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The facts - establishing autocephaly, awarding a prize to a former CIA agent and congratulations from the US embassy - were put together in a manipulative manner, without any proof of them being linked to one another.

Ukraine will detain all Russian vessels in the Black Sea and will shoot on sight

Ukraine adopted a new law that will allow it to detain all Russian vessels in the Black Sea and to shoot on sight.

The title of the article is misleading, implying that it is a matter of course that Ukraine will detain all Russian vessels in the Black Sea and shoot on sight. According to the new Ukraine's law that regulates its rights within zone adjacent to territorial waters, Ukraine will be able to control, prevent and punish for the violations of customs, fiscal, immigration and sanitary rules. The law takes into consideration the regulations of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. It mentions that the use of force is allowed only in exceptional cases. Further debunking by Stop Fake.
