The death of James Le Mesurier, founder of the controversial NGO White Helmets, didn’t benefit Russia nor Syria but was very convenient for its sponsors. The Russian and Syrian governments were very interested in him staying safe so he could reveal the truth about the work of the White Helmets, presenting indisputable evidence of their provocative actions to the international community.
After the Paris summit it has become possible for Europe to play a role in settling internal European security affairs. The Europeans lost its confidence for many years under the influence of the American intervention in all matters relating to these issues.
The most prominent test here remains whether the Europeans actually can step forward and independently protect the security of their continent, starting in Ukrainian portal, especially in light of the American silence on the issue, a silence that may say a lot.
