Disinfo: US prepared people in different parts of the world to organise protests

Summary

Have you noticed that they [the media] are showing people now who is guiding the crowd? ‘This is where the bricks are stacked’. This wildly reminds me of Yegor Zhukov and his comrades during the August riots in Moscow, it is the same style and same system of organisation. Now the Americans are fed up with their own product. They prepared people like Yegor Zhukov in different parts of the world, they prepared them to organise protests. Well, now they got protests at home.

Disproof

Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that the United States supports so-called "colour revolutions" around the world. This narrative portrays any spontaneous disorders and civil uprisings in other states, especially the former Soviet republics, as Western-funded "colour revolutions", including the Revolution of Dignity (Euromaidan) in Ukraine, which began in 2013 without any outside influence.

Yegor Zhukov, a Russian student and activist, is also mentioned. Russian media claimed that Mr. Zhukov "has long been known for his calls for revolutions", which has no evidence. There is also no evidence that Mr. Zhukov was somehow "prepared" by the US to organise protests in Russia.

Since his arrest in August 2019, Mr. Zhukov has become a symbol of a wave of anti-Kremlin protests that rocked the Russian capital in summer 2019. His videos called upon viewers to use all possible means to depose President Putin, whom he called a “dictator and a tyrant.”

Mr. Zhukov was initially accused of taking part in the demonstration and of directing mass riots, in a case that included other protesters. The case was later closed because of a lack of evidence that any riots had taken place.

There’s no evidence that Russia was involved in hacking the Bundestag

There’s no reason to believe in what the German security stated. No human investigator and nobody in the Russian Federation has access to the results of the German investigation that prove Russian hacking of the Bundestag.

Disproof

Unsubstantiated claims obfuscating Russia's responsibility for cyber attacks on the German Parliament in 2015.

The German domestic intelligence agency said Russia was behind a series of attacks on German state computer systems, including the German parliament in 2015. According to the reports from the German media, the federal prosecutor's office has issued an international arrest warrant against Dmitriy Badin, a hacker reportedly working for the Russian military intelligence service, in relation to the cyber attack.

The protests in the US may be a colour revolution orchestrated by those who promoted the fake Russiagate

Peaceful protests degenerated into riots and deliberate fires, followed by violence, clashes with police and political demands for regime change, driving comparisons to the events in Ukraine, north Africa or Serbia, or, more recently, Bolivia, Venezuela and Hong Kong. This is not the first time that an African American man dies at the hands of the police and a peaceful protest turns violent, but it is the first Black Lives Matter protest that spread everywhere and quickly gained an openly political and partisan dimension, despite that the four agents involved in the death of George Floyd were immediately fired and one of them was charged with murder a few days later. It is not surprising that Trump is blamed for the death of Floyd, despite that Minneapolis and Minnesota are run by Democrats. He was also blamed for the coronavirus by the Democrats, the same people that insisted for years that Russiagate was real. Now they blame Trump for responding to the riots (what they call “peaceful protests”) by sending the army. Colour revolutions follow a script: find a legitimate cause, ask the police and the army to join the protests, and if they don’t, intensify the riots to provoke a forceful response that creates martyrs. Everything useful must be captured by cameras, and any inconvenience removed from memory. The goal is not reform, equity or justice, but regime change. The old Serbian joke says that no colour revolution can take place in the US because there is no US Embassy there, so all this must surely be a mere coincidence. Surprisingly, everything that the US applied all over the world is being implemented in its territory.

Disproof

This is a mix of several recurrent pro-Kremlin narratives, framing every protest movement in the world as a colour revolution promoted from the outside and aiming at regime change and portraying the Democratic Party in the US as part of a Deep State conspiracy to illegally topple president Donald Trump by falsely linking him to Russia.

The claim that the protests after the death of African American citizen George Floyd are a colour revolution orchestrated by the Democrats is a conspiracy theory, and zero evidence is provided to back it. On the contrary, many Democratic leaders have called upon demonstrators to go home, or at least to strictly stick to peaceful protest and avoid looting and violence. While some of them, along with some Republicans opposed to Donald Trump, are encouraging citizens to vote for the Democratic Party in the upcoming elections of November 2020 if they want to replace Donald Trump, that can hardly be considered a plot to overthrow the president.

The Guardian points to ruling elite as the real instigators of the US crisis

The publication The Guardian wrote about the fact that the pandemic or the murder of African American George Floyd are only elements of a centuries-old history of oppression by the ruling elites. Donald Trump, whose decisions took the modern America to disaster, is randomly called “the happy opportunist” in the publication. But much more important and more responsible of the crisis are those who stand out above presidents: the ruling elites that granted Trump his powers and kept him in the White House despite his dangerous incompetence, are responsible of what’s happening in the US. The forces of white anger and resentment will see how America destroys itself before allowing our own power to be weakened.

Disproof

This is a deliberate distortion of an op-ed by US historian Andrew Gawthorpe in The Guardian. The original article is a denunciation of the racial disparities and oppressions that divide the US and its cynical use by the leaders of the country “as a means of maintaining power”. It criticizes Donald Trump and “the forces which propelled him to power”, but he is clearly and specifically referring to the Republican Party. There is no mention of “ruling elites” who “stand above presidents”, which is a blatant attempt to link to the recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative of a “shadow government” directing world affairs above elected leaders.

You can see other examples of this disinformation narrative in our database, such as unfounded stories about the “true rulers of the globe” like the "Skulls and Bones" fraternity to which all US presidents belong, secret oligarch groups based in Switzerland, the Deep State in the US, Jews and Masons, the Vatican, the Rothschild and Rockefeller families or billionaire George Soros, who allegedly uses the G7 as a facade and controls the world through mechanisms like manipulation of public opinion, thought controlclimate changeimmigration, and even the coronavirus outbreak.
