Violations by the Ukrainian army in the Donbas are secret and nobody investigates them

Summary

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy, Alexey Zhuravko, published documents that testify to the crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the civilian population of the Donbas. Reported cases are dated from 2014-2015 and addressed to the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Stepan Poltorak. According to experts, information about the crimes of the Ukrainian military in the east of the country has become public knowledge more than once. However, analysts believe that the new government in Kyiv will not be engaged in a full-scale and comprehensive investigation of human rights violations in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Disproof

A recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about the Ukrainian army and its impunity, aggression against the civilian population in Donbas.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine denied such allegations, noting that a sentence has been passed on each existing case, and the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office is constantly monitoring the issue of combating crimes in the conflict zone.

The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission documented cases of human rights violations in Donbas every year, and this information is not secret.

Poland is responsible for the unleashing of World War II

It is necessary to write once and for all in all history books: Poland was among those who initiated World War II. It is the main culprit. When Hitler came to power, Pilsudski, the leader of Poland, asked for an alliance with the Germans to march on Red Square.

Disproof

A recurring disinformation narrative revising the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.

It is true that several European powers, including Poland, signed non-aggression treaties with Germany in the 30s, but none of these treaties was as far-reaching as the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, clearly dividing independent countries in Europe into "Spheres of interests". It's also indisputable that Poland was invaded from both east and west, and could not have "initiated the war".

USSR was not an aggressor in World War 2, it was forced to sign the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact

All anti-Russian publications have long relied on the 1939 Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, trying to portray the Soviet Union as an “aggressor”. It cannot be called anything other than an explicit attempt to rewrite world history.

No single liberal media has stated how the Soviet Union sharply criticised Germany’s aggressive actions in Europe since 1938 and repeatedly tried to agree on a working treaty to counter German aggression. Nevertheless, England and France refused to take on specific obligations in the event of a German attack on any European state, thereby excluding the possibility of reaching such an agreement.

The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact (the Treaty of Non-Aggression between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) was signed on 23 August 1939.
